In a rare TV appearance, Melania Trump opened up about her husband’s survival from two assassination attempts and the anger she felt following the FBI’s raid on their Florida home.

Speaking with Ainsley Earhardt on Fox & Friends, the former First Lady described both events as “miracles” and shared her frustration over the media and political figures’ inflammatory rhetoric toward Donald Trump, which she believes has created a dangerous environment, as reported by the New York Post.

Melania recounted the first assassination attempt during a rally in Butler, Pennsylvania, on July 13. She recalled watching in shock as her husband was grazed by a bullet. “I ran to the TV and I rewind[ed] it and I watched it. When I saw it… nobody really knew what had happened yet,” she said, explaining her immediate reaction after hearing from her chief of staff that Donald was safe but shaken.

Just two months later, Donald Trump was targeted again, this time by a sniper as he played golf near their Mar-a-Lago estate in Palm Beach, Florida. Melania recalled being in New York City when the second attempt happened. “I saw it on the television,  and as soon as I saw it on television I called again, and he was OK, because  Secret Service were great.”

Reflecting on the two incidents, Melania described them as nothing short of miraculous. “And, I think both of the events, they were really miracles. If you really think about it, July 13th was a miracle. Like, that much and he could, you know, he could not be with us,” she remarked, demonstrating with her fingers how narrowly the bullet missed her husband.

Melania also addressed what she believes is fueling such hostility toward her husband. She pointed the finger at opposition leaders and the mainstream media, accusing them of inciting violence with their divisive rhetoric.

“We hear the leaders from the opposition party and mainstream media branding him as threat to democracy, calling him vile names. [They’re] only fueling a toxic atmosphere and all of these people that they wanted to harm — this needs to stop.”

In addition to the assassination attempts, Melania shared her anger over the FBI’s 2022 raid of Mar-a-Lago, which was part of an investigation into her husband’s handling of classified documents. The former First Lady expressed disbelief at the invasion of privacy. “It made me angry…an invasion of privacy,” she said, recalling the moment she returned home to find her wardrobe and her son Barron’s room searched.

“I saw unpleasant things that nobody wants to see. Some person – I don’t even know who or how many people – they, you know, they went through my stuff. And you get angry because, you know, nobody should be putting up with that kind of stuff.”
