Senator Josh Hawley (R-MO) recently unleashed a bombshell report revealing major failures by the U.S. Secret Service in the lead-up to an assassination attempt on former President Donald Trump during a rally in Butler, Pennsylvania, as reported by Gateway Pundit.

According to whistleblowers, these failures contributed to the tragic events of July 13, 2024, when Trump was wounded, and a supporter was killed by a sniper attack.

The senator first addressed these whistleblower allegations in a letter to Homeland Security Secretary Alejandro Mayorkas, slamming the Secret Service’s decision to reject offers from local law enforcement to use drone surveillance at the rally. Despite the availability of this technology, it was only deployed after the attack had already occurred.

Adding to the controversy, Hawley revealed that the lead Secret Service agent assigned to the rally had failed critical training exams and had a questionable track record. Yet, this agent was promoted under the watch of former Secret Service Director Kimberly Cheatle, an individual Hawley claims has ties to the Biden family.

He further criticized the Secret Service for leaving the rally undermanned, with DHS officers rather than Secret Service agents handling much of the security.

During a segment on Jesse Watters’s show, Hawley didn’t hold back, blasting acting Secret Service Director Ronald Rowe for refusing to cooperate with Congress and withholding key information. “The fact that the director will not level with the American people about what’s going here is just totally unacceptable and unbelievable,” Hawley stated.

More troubling are claims that the Department of Homeland Security is now pressuring the Secret Service to avoid complying with congressional document requests related to the assassination attempt. According to Hawley, this obstruction only deepens concerns about what the Biden administration might be hiding.

In a 22-page whistleblower report released by Hawley, additional disturbing details emerged. These included the absence of Secret Service intelligence units at the rally, poor security at the hospital where Trump was treated, and unanswered questions regarding who ordered the denial of rooftop sniper coverage, which could have prevented the attack.

As Hawley continues his investigation, the American public is left wondering why the agencies responsible for protecting a former president have been so resistant to transparency. The senator’s ongoing efforts aim to hold these agencies accountable and ensure such a grave security failure never happens again.
