Jessie James Decker turned an airplane armrest dispute into a combustible social media spectacle after posting a video of a bare foot beside her seat. The country singer covered her nose before using some sort of spray on the offending foot.

The text placed over the video made her complaint unmistakable: "Someone’s foot smells so bad on the plane." Decker then invited her 4.4 million Instagram followers to judge how she handled the uncomfortable encounter.

"Before you come at me…What would you have done?" she captioned the post. That question quickly opened the floodgates, with commenters debating both the foot and Decker’s aromatic counterattack.

Many users firmly supported the singer and showed little concern for the person whose bare foot had entered her space. "I’d do just what you did!!! Spray the stinky foot!!!" one commenter cheered.

Another person wanted consequences that went well beyond a quick burst from a spray bottle. "They should’ve been escorted off the plane," the commenter wrote.

A person describing herself as a former flight attendant also condemned travelers who use airplane armrests as footrests. She argued that passengers should respect both the aircraft and the people sharing the cabin.

"As a past flight attendant, when I saw people put their feet on the armrest. I immediately told them, ' No, this isn’t their home. Respect the plane & people around you. That is so F in nasty. I would have smacked his foot with my elbow."

Not every viewer was convinced that Decker had actually sprayed an unknown traveler. Several commenters wondered whether the mystery foot belonged to her husband, former NFL wide receiver Eric Decker, whom she married in 2013.

"Please tell me that's Eric's foot and not some random person's foot!" one person wrote. The possibility that the moment was a joke between the married couple quickly became a major part of the discussion.

Another follower pointed to Decker’s personality while questioning whether she would spray a stranger. "I’m guessing that’s Eric’s foot? You are far too sweet to do that to a stranger…" the user speculated.

Other commenters were more direct about what they hoped had happened aboard the flight. "That better be your husband. I would’ve moved!" a third person added.

One follower appeared certain the clip was playful rather than confrontational. "You're being silly, right? It's your husband behind you," the person wrote.

Some viewers ignored the identity question and instead proposed their own unusual responses to an unwanted bare foot. Their suggestions ranged from drawing on it to disguising the spray as part of a sneeze.

"I would’ve pulled out … [a] sharpie and started drawing," another commenter joked. A different user suggested, "You should have pretended to sneeze then sprayed his foot."

Decker did not identify whose foot appeared in the video, leaving viewers without a definitive answer about whether it belonged to Eric or another passenger. The uncertainty only gave followers more room to debate what they had watched.

For this particular airborne episode, however, the question remained focused on passenger behavior and personal boundaries. Decker’s followers were left deciding whether they would spray, move, complain, or reach for a marker when confronted with the same bare-foot predicament.
