Cindy Crawford has spoken publicly about the death of her son, Presley Walker Gerber, sharing an emotional Instagram tribute on October 18. Presley died at age 27 on September 20, nearly one month before his mother posted the message, as reported by Yahoo.

Crawford accompanied her words with a monochrome photograph of Presley smiling while holding a pair of feathery angel wings. The deeply personal image became the setting for her first public statement about the loss of her only son.

“We are beyond heartbroken to lose our beloved son and brother,” Crawford wrote. Her tribute was signed on behalf of herself, her husband Rande Gerber, and their daughter, Kaia Gerber.

Crawford continued, “We feel so blessed to have had Presley in our lives for 27 years. He is a sweet, beautiful soul who loved and is loved, now and forever.”

Presley died of cardiac arrest at a rehabilitation facility after a battle with addiction that had continued for years. He left behind his mother, his father, and his younger sister.

In her message, Crawford remembered the qualities she admired in Presley and expressed pride in how he conducted himself. She also acknowledged the support the family has received from people close to them and from strangers affected by their grief.

“We are so proud of how he showed up in the world, with kindness and vulnerability. We are grateful for the outpouring of love and support from so many who know and love our family and even strangers who feel our pain.”

The Instagram post marked Crawford’s first public words about Presley since his death. Her remembrance focused on the love surrounding him, the 27 years the family shared with him, and the kindness and vulnerability she said he brought into the world.

Months before Presley’s death, he joined Crawford and Rande in supporting Kaia at the May 20 launch event for her collaboration with Re/Done. The Los Angeles gathering became the family’s final public outing together before Presley died.

Crawford and Rande later appeared publicly in Malibu, California, on October 11. The couple walked while holding hands during what was described as their first public appearance following the loss of their only son.

Kaia posted her own remembrance just minutes after Crawford shared the photograph of Presley. The model honored her older brother with a grainy home video showing the siblings dancing together when they were children.

“i love you the bluest, to the moon and back and back again, forever big brother,” Kaia wrote in the caption. Her words accompanied a personal collection of memories devoted to Presley and their relationship as siblings.

Later in the Instagram photo gallery, Kaia included a poem she had written in Presley’s honor. The poem remembered the time they spent together and expressed her continuing love for her brother.

The tributes from Crawford and Kaia offered separate glimpses of Presley through the family’s memories. Crawford shared a photograph of her smiling son with angel wings, while Kaia turned to childhood footage and her own poetry.
