The official account placed Blair in custody following the response at the gate. She was then transported to a hospital for an evaluation, although the statement did not provide further information about that evaluation or her condition at that point.
A representative for Blair gave TMZ a statement addressing the episode. "Selma experienced a medical emergency that led to the alleged conduct. Upon landing, she received immediate medical attention and is currently in stable condition."
The representative characterized the situation as a medical emergency and said Blair was stable after receiving immediate care. The statement did not offer additional details about the nature of the emergency or describe the circumstances that preceded the alleged conduct.
Officials also confirmed that two flight attendants reported injuries following the incident. Delta separately confirmed that law enforcement officials responded to an incident when the flight arrived at John F. Kennedy International Airport. The airline said the aircraft had departed from Los Angeles earlier that day before completing its trip to New York.
"Delta has zero tolerance for unruly or unlawful behavior, as the safety of our customers and crew always comes first," Delta said in a statement addressing the incident.
The airline also said there was no operational impact to the flight. Despite the law enforcement response after its arrival, Delta flight 938 landed ahead of schedule at JFK, according to the information released by the company.
The authorities' description placed the response after the aircraft was parked at the gate, rather than while it was still traveling. The allegations concerned Blair's conduct aboard the flight, with crew members identified in the report as the people allegedly attacked.
