The Thursday Michigan U.S. Senate debate put leftist Muslim Democrat Abdul El-Sayed on the spot after Republican candidate Mike Rogers accused him of being funded by George Soros’ family and terrorist organizations.
El-Sayed did not deny receiving such money during the exchange, as reported by Breitbart.
The confrontation began when El-Sayed accused Rogers of profiting from public service and trading stock while serving in Congress. El-Sayed also claimed that he does not own stock.

“I’m not trying to make myself rich off of my job in public service. This guy has done exactly that — $14 million.”
“That’s what he made when he left Congress doing the work for the corporations he had just previously been regulating, who had bought him off when he was in Congress in the first place,” El-Sayed stated.
Rogers rejected the accusation as “offensive” and said it was a lie that he ever traded stock. He then turned the attack back on El-Sayed and his campaign’s financial support.
“So that means you’re bought off by George Soros’ family. That means that you’re bought off by Hamas, Hezbollah, Al-Qaeda.”

“Those people who are supporting you pour that money into your campaign. You begged Chuck Schumer, begged Chuck Schumer.”
“Matter of fact, you had to sneak by the trash cans in the back of the building to beg for that money. So here’s the guy to send money out of politics until it gets to shove into his pocket.”
“That absolutely tells you who he is,” Rogers stated. El-Sayed did not deny the allegations about money from Soros or terrorist groups during the heated exchange.

"You're bought off by George Soros' family. You're bought off by Hamas, Hezbollah, Al Qaeda. Those people who are supporting you pour that money into YOUR campaign!" "You begged Chuck Schumer — matter of fact, you had to sneak by the trash cans in the back of the building to BEG for that money!" "So here's the guy to say 'money out of politics' until it gets to shove into HIS POCKET!" 🔥🔥🔥 Last month, cameras caught El Sayed slipping in the BACK ENTRANCE of the DSCC in DC, refusing to answer a single question, for a closed-door meeting with Schumer and Senate Democrats This is the same guy who ran his whole primary AGAINST Schumer and the party establishment Then he spent HOURS courting them, and Democrats walked out promising to help fund his campaign 🤡 That's not to mention his Islamist-linked donors. The debate unfolded as Americans prepare to vote in the November midterm elections.
The clash placed campaign money, alleged financial connections, and the candidates’ records at the center of the Michigan Senate contest.
The controversy follows an August report from Fox News, which said:
“A Senate counterterrorism expert testified that Michigan Democratic Senate nominee Abdul El-Sayed’s candidacy raises homeland security concerns because of family ties to Muslim Brotherhood-linked groups and connections to a Midwest voter-engagement organization the expert said is tied to the Council on American-Islamic Relations (CAIR).”
Breitbart News previously reported that El-Sayed accepted hundreds of thousands of dollars from terrorist organizations.
In September, Rogers pressed the Democrat to return that money and argued that the funding should disqualify him from serving.
“I guess when Abdul claims he wants ‘money out of politics,’ he doesn’t count terrorist organizations. As a former Army officer and House Intelligence Chair, I spent my life fighting to defeat terrorist organizations.”
“Abdul cashes checks from them,” Rogers said. His criticism contrasted his own military and congressional background with the financial support reportedly flowing to El-Sayed.
Rogers added that the matter was “absolutely disqualifying and an insult to the brave men and women who’ve risked their lives in service to this great country. Abdul — return the money.”

El-Sayed has also recently faced questions over his ties to Soros.
Although the Democrat has promised to get money out of politics, Breitbart News reported that he is “secretly benefitting from over $15 million from those associated with the late disgraced financier Jeffrey Epstein.”
That report, combined with Rogers’ debate accusations and El-Sayed’s failure to deny receiving money from terrorists, kept the focus squarely on the Democrat’s financial backing.
Rogers used the debate stage to challenge the contrast between El-Sayed’s rhetoric about money in politics and the support surrounding his campaign.
