A Delta Air Lines flight carrying actor Andrew Garfield and several other celebrities was diverted to New Mexico Wednesday after the crew detected an unusual odor believed to be coming from the cockpit, as reported by TMZ.
The Boeing 767 was traveling from Los Angeles International Airport to New York's John F. Kennedy International Airport when the crew reported an electrical odor, according to the Federal Aviation Administration.
The aircraft was subsequently diverted to Albuquerque International Sunport, where it landed safely.
Garfield was among several recognizable names aboard the flight. Actors Owen Thiele and Nick Robinson were also passengers, along with "Love Island USA" cast member Dylan Wrona and singer Mark Ambor.

The flight had departed from Los Angeles and was heading east toward New York when the issue prompted the emergency diversion. No injuries were reported following the landing.
Delta addressed the incident in a statement, saying the aircraft had been diverted because of a "smoky odor."
The airline also apologized to passengers for the disruption and said it would "accommodate customers as quickly as possible to their final destinations.”
The situation quickly made its way onto social media, with Thiele sharing his experience with followers on Instagram after the aircraft arrived safely in Albuquerque.

Owen, who stars in the television series "Adults," posted photographs from the incident and told his followers, "we just had an emergency landing in Albuquerque," before asking for recommendations about what to do in the New Mexico city.
Thiele also appeared to be particularly amused by the fact that Garfield was aboard the same aircraft.
He wrote, "Andrew Garfield on my flight."
Thiele later shared a selfie and joked about the unusual circumstances, writing, "If plane went down, it would've said Andrew Garfield and others. Nick Robinson here too. Andrew Garfield, Nick Robinson and others."

The post drew attention because of the number of actors traveling on the same flight and the unexpected turn their trip took after the aircraft was diverted.
Robinson, known for his work in film and television, also posted about the experience. After the plane landed, he shared a selfie with Thiele and jokingly referred to the pair as "survivors."
Despite the emergency landing, the aircraft reached the ground without injuries being reported. The incident remained a disruption to the passengers' travel plans rather than a reported medical emergency.
The FAA confirmed that the crew had detected the electrical odor and that the flight was diverted to Albuquerque.
The aircraft's safe landing allowed passengers to leave the plane while arrangements were made for them to continue their journeys to New York.
For Garfield, Thiele, Robinson and the other passengers, what began as a routine flight from Los Angeles to New York instead became an unexpected stop in Albuquerque.
The incident also gave the celebrities a memorable story to share, with Thiele and Robinson turning to social media shortly after the landing.
Delta said it would work to get affected passengers to their final destinations as quickly as possible following the diversion.
The flight was one of several celebrity travel stories to draw attention online because of the number of recognizable passengers aboard.
Garfield, who has starred in films including "The Amazing Spider-Man" and "Hacksaw Ridge," was traveling alongside Thiele and Robinson when the crew detected the odor.
While the circumstances prompted the diversion, the aircraft ultimately landed safely in Albuquerque, and there were no reported injuries among the passengers or crew.
