Six people were injured Saturday during the load-out process following Ed Sheeran’s concert at Ford Field in Detroit. The workers were taken to a local hospital after an incident involving a forklift at the stadium, as reported by Page Six.

The Detroit Fire Department responded to what was described as a “forklift injury accident” at around 11 p.m., according to Click On Detroit.

Emergency crews subsequently transported six workers from Ford Field for medical treatment.

The incident occurred as the stage from Sheeran’s concert was being dismantled near a vehicle tunnel.

Several workers told the outlet that they had been heading for a break during their shift when the equipment “lost control.”

Those workers said the equipment hit “several of them” during the stage removal process. The circumstances surrounding the equipment and what caused the incident were not detailed in the report.

One crew member remained at a hospital overnight before being released Sunday. Another crew member, who said he was struck in the chest, described how quickly the situation unfolded.

That worker told the outlet he had “never experienced anything like that.” He also said everything “happened in a split second.”

None of the injuries suffered by those transported to hospitals appeared to be life-threatening. However, the conditions of the six patients varied as they were being taken from the stadium.

Two of the patients were reported to be in serious condition during transportation, according to the outlet. The remaining four patients were listed in stable condition at that time.

Ford Field said one of the people injured in the incident was an employee of the venue. The stadium also confirmed that it had started reviewing what happened and was working with the relevant parties.

“Ford Field has begun a full review and is cooperating with the appropriate authorities and with the event’s production partners,” the stadium told the outlet.

“Out of respect for the people involved and the integrity of that review, we will not speculate on the cause. We are grateful to the Detroit Fire Department and EMS for their rapid response.”

The venue therefore did not offer an explanation for what caused the equipment to lose control.

Its statement focused on the ongoing review, its cooperation with authorities and production partners, and the emergency response.

Ford Field and representatives for Sheeran did not immediately respond to Fox News Digital’s request for comment.

The accident followed Sheeran’s concert at the Detroit stadium and happened during the work required to take down the production.

The six people injured were workers involved in the load-out process after the performance.

Sheeran embarked on the Loop Tour in January to support “Play,” his eighth studio album. The tour included 57 concerts and is set to resume on Sept. 4 at MetLife Stadium in New Jersey.

The tour is scheduled to continue through December. Its planned conclusion is a two-night stint in Mexico City.

The next scheduled concert remained the Sept. 4 performance at MetLife Stadium, followed by the tour’s continuation toward its December ending.

Meanwhile, Ford Field’s review remains focused on the incident and the people involved.

The venue said it would not speculate about the cause while that process and its cooperation with the appropriate authorities continued.
