The Democrat Party must be longing for the good old days when “Believe All Women” was their moral compass.

That slogan has aged about as well as week old sushi now that their own presumptive Senate nominee in Maine, Graham Platner, is facing fresh allegations of abuse, control, and misconduct.

As the June 9th primary looms, Democrats are tying themselves in rhetorical knots trying to square their long preached virtue signaling with political survival.

The New York Times dropped the first bombshell Thursday, with three former girlfriends describing Platner as manipulative, domineering, and allegedly abusive.

One ex detailed alarming incidents of physical intimidation including grabbing, twisting, confinement, and threats that would have sparked endless outrage if the accused were a Republican.

Yet here we are, watching mainstream media shuffle nervously and Democrats hum the tune of selective outrage.

Speculation is already growing that the Times may have buried even more serious accusations, allegedly giving Platner’s legal team advance warning and possibly cutting assault claims from the final story.

The same press corps that turned Christine Blasey Ford into a resistance saint over an uncorroborated story from decades ago suddenly can’t find its curiosity when it comes to a Democrat candidate.

Enter Rep. Ro Khanna of California. During a Friday rally and a Sunday television stop, he managed to make a bad situation worse.

Khanna tried to thread the impossible needle, saying people should “believe his accusers,” yet somehow also “believe Platner.”

His reasoning? Platner, who reportedly sexted multiple women after getting married just months ago, has supposedly “redeemed” himself.

Democrats really do love their redemption stories, but only when they apply to their own.

Still, it was another comment from Khanna that grabbed even more attention.

He admitted that Platner’s alleged behavior “didn’t come as a surprise to a lot of the folks in Maine.”

Excuse me?

Did a sitting member of Congress just imply this kind of conduct was basically an open secret?

That one line should have had investigative reporters digging like mad, but instead, the silence has been deafening.

Khanna’s explanation was that Platner came home from two tours in Iraq “broken” and in “a dark place.”

That is meant to sound compassionate, but it conveniently gives Democrats a ready made excuse for behavior they would never forgive in anyone named Trump or Kavanaugh.

It raises an even bigger question: who else in Maine politics knew about Platner’s past and looked away because they needed a winnable candidate?

One of Platner’s accusers, Lyndsey Fifield, has spoken publicly about her experiences, painting a troubling picture of his time bartending in Washington before returning to Maine to start an oyster farm.

That’s quite a career pivot, but perhaps one that let him reinvent himself long enough to gain political traction.

Still, if Khanna’s comments are true, local Democrats may have looked the other way long before the media was finally forced to report it.

Republican operatives are smelling blood in the water.

According to journalist Mark Halperin, sources within the National Republican Senatorial Committee say their opposition research on Platner is so explosive it could end his political career entirely.

One insider even predicted Platner will not just lose the election, he will “have to leave the state.”

That is not run of the mill campaign talk.

It signals that what is still hidden could be politically catastrophic.

Platner’s problems are not limited to these allegations.

WATCH:

Previous reports pointed to a tattoo linked to Nazi iconography and a long online history littered with offensive remarks.

For a party that spends half its time lecturing Americans on sensitivity, inclusion, and the dangers of “hate symbols,” that kind of baggage is pure dynamite.

Somehow, Democrats keep finding candidates who implode under the weight of their own hypocrisy.

If Platner manages to win Tuesday’s primary, the political clock will start ticking fast.

Under Maine law, Democrats could only replace him on the general election ballot if he backs out before the second Monday in July.

That means by July 14th, the party would have to decide whether to stand behind him or yank the eject handle.

Either choice is a nightmare scenario.

It is difficult to imagine national Democrats letting someone with allegations like these stay in the race, but if past cycles are any guide, they will likely fake moral outrage just long enough to see which way the polling wind blows.

If Platner remains ahead, they will preach redemption; if he tanks, they will suddenly rediscover their conscience.

Conservative analysts believe this could become another defining episode in the implosion of the left’s credibility on women’s issues.

The “Believe All Women” crowd has turned into the “Believe Our Guy” crowd, and the American public is noticing.

Every time they shift their moral goalposts, trust erodes further.

Ro Khanna’s attempt to do cleanup for the embattled candidate may go down as one of the more foolish political moves of the election season.

By trying to sound empathetic, he confirmed what many suspected: Democrats knew more than they were willing to admit.

Meanwhile, the journalists who drooled over tales of Republican scandals suddenly need a compass to remember what investigative curiosity even is.

For a party that constantly claims the moral high ground, Democrats are showing once again that power trumps principle.

The Platner scandal is not just about one man’s alleged actions but a culture inside the left that protects its own while preaching purity.

Time for the reporters Khanna name checked to find their courage and actually do their jobs.

Until then, the loudest silence in Washington belongs to the ones who promised to “believe all women.”
