Rep. Brandon Gill, R-Texas, pressed Attorney General Pam Bondi during a House Judiciary Committee hearing Wednesday over what he described as a series of actions taken by the Department of Justice under Joe Biden and Kamala Harris.
Gill opened his line of questioning by indicating he intended to move through multiple issues.
“I’ve got a series of questions for you that we can get through pretty quickly, I think,” Gill said.
“Can you tell me, is it true that the Biden-Harris DOJ raided President Trump’s home?”

“They did,” Bondi responded.
Gill then asked about the activities of former special counsel Jack Smith and whether the Department of Justice had permitted him to conduct surveillance on Republican lawmakers.
“Did the Biden-Harris DOJ allow Jack Smith to spy on over a dozen Republican members of Congress?” Gill continued.
“Absolutely,” Bondi answered.

The Texas congressman followed up with another question regarding the seizure of a congressional device.
“Did the Biden-Harris DOJ seize the phone of a sitting Republican Congressman?” Gill questioned.
“Yes.” Bondi replied.
Gill next turned to the use of confidential sources in investigations involving President Donald Trump, asking whether payments had been made.

Gill asked if the Biden-Harris DOJ and Jack Smith had paid “at least $20,000 to confidential” sources to provide information on President Donald Trump. Bondi responded with “at least.”
He also questioned the Department’s handling of the investigation into explosive devices placed near the U.S. Capitol ahead of January 6.
“Did the Biden-Harris DOJ and FBI fail to apprehend the suspect who placed pipe bombs near the Capitol ahead of January 6?” Gill questioned.
“yes.” Bondi responded.
Gill then addressed the treatment of parents in disputes over school board policies.
He asked whether the Biden-Harris DOJ had targeted parents “as domestic terrorists,” to which Bondi responded, “absolutely.”
The congressman also asked about actions taken toward pro-life Catholics.
Gill asked if the Biden-Harris DOJ had targeted “pro-life Catholics, going so far as to interview a priest and a choir director.”

“Yes.” Bondi responded.
Among the final issues raised was the federal investigation into Hunter Biden.
Gill asked whether the Biden-Harris DOJ had slow walked “the criminal investigation and prosecution of Hunter Biden.”
Bondi stated that it was “an understatement” in her opinion.
Following the exchange, Gill expressed appreciation for changes he said were occurring under Bondi’s leadership at the Department of Justice.
He said he appreciates that “a lot of this is being cleaned up under” Bondi’s leadership.
“Thank you for returning the DOJ back to its core focus, which is on the rule of law,” Gill added.
