Actress Dakota Johnson attended the Zurich Film Festival on Thursday, where she received the Golden Eye Award for career achievement. Johnson, 35, was recognized for her work in film while also drawing attention for her red-carpet attire, as reported by Page Six.

The Fifty Shades of Grey and Madame Web star wore a custom Gucci gown designed in sheer lace with a high neckline, long sleeves, and a Basque-style waistline. The dress featured a layered, full-length tulle skirt. Johnson’s look was styled by Kate Young, her longtime collaborator.

To complete the ensemble, Johnson wore several pieces of jewelry by Roberto Coin, including sapphire and diamond earrings, along with a diamond, emerald, and tanzanite ring paired with another sapphire and diamond ring.

The appearance continues Johnson’s trend of choosing sheer designs for public events. Earlier this month, at a Kering Foundation event in New York, she wore a Gucci gown embroidered with floral patterns, which she layered over Fleur du Mal lingerie.

That look was paired with diamond and emerald jewelry designed by Jessica McCormack.

In June, shortly after her breakup with Coldplay frontman Chris Martin, Johnson was photographed outside the Greenwich Hotel in New York. She was wearing a Nensi Dojaka bodysuit with a tulle midi skirt, an outfit that quickly gained attention online.

She has made similar fashion choices in past appearances. At the February 2024 premiere of Madame Web, Johnson wore a Gucci crystal-embellished mesh gown, continuing her pattern of selecting transparent designs.

Johnson has previously described her style approach in an interview with Vogue during the Cannes Film Festival in May. Reflecting on her early experiences, she recalled wearing her mother Melanie Griffith’s gowns as a child.

“Fashion has actually kind of always been a personal thing for me,” Johnson said. She added that her decision-making for red-carpet events is straightforward: “I guess the thing that makes me choose a dress for a carpet — I have to feel good in it.”

The Zurich Film Festival’s Golden Eye Award has been presented to numerous international actors and directors, honoring careers that have made a mark on the global film industry.
