Three police officers were shot Wednesday afternoon in what officials are calling an ambush-style attack in Lorain, Ohio, approximately 30 miles west of Cleveland.
According to Lorain police, the shooting occurred around 1 p.m. when two officers were parked in their patrol vehicles during a lunch break.
While seated in their cruisers, the officers were shot without warning.
A third officer responding to the scene was also struck by gunfire.
All three officers are members of the Lorain Police Department.
At least one officer sustained serious injuries, according to acting Lorain Police Chief Michael Failing.
The suspect, identified only as a 28-year-old white male, was pronounced dead at the scene.

I wonder if the assailant was shot 26 times, starting with the kneecaps?
… 26 shots in 26 minutes.
Did you notice they described the assailant in the article but, only because he was white. Had he been black it would only stated a male.
And if he had a red hat with white letters on it, there would have been pictures of him, CNN on it 24/7, NPR having a bake sale for Lorain cookies…
I wonder whom paid him
