President Donald Trump reaffirmed his administration’s rollback of federal diversity, equity, and inclusion (DEI) initiatives during a rally Tuesday in Michigan, citing it as part of his broader agenda to dismantle progressive policies and restore what he described as “common sense” governance, as reported by The Gateway Pundit.

The rally, held in Warren to mark the 100-day milestone of Trump’s second term, featured remarks sharply critical of DEI programs across the government and private sectors.

Addressing a large crowd, Trump stated:

“I ended all of the lawless so-called diversity, equity, and inclusion bullsh*t all across the entire federal government and the private sector. And I made it the official policy of the United States government that there are only two genders: MALE AND FEMALE.”

The crowd responded with loud applause as Trump emphasized his stance against gender ideology and what he described as divisive identity-based hiring policies. Video of the moment quickly circulated online, gaining traction among his supporters.

As part of his first-term rollback of DEI programs, Trump signed a series of executive orders targeting government agencies and federal contractors that had implemented diversity training or race-based initiatives.

Upon returning to office, Trump renewed those efforts with expanded orders that prohibit the use of federal funds for programs promoting racial or gender-based quotas or preferences.

One of the more recent actions taken by the Trump administration includes the rescission of guidance from the Departments of Education and Justice that had been issued under former Presidents Barack Obama and Joe Biden.

That guidance warned school districts against allegedly discriminatory disciplinary practices and encouraged differential treatment based on student demographics.

By revoking the policy, the Trump administration argued it was eliminating “racially biased” directives that had resulted in unequal treatment and the lowering of behavioral standards in schools.

Trump’s remarks in Michigan are part of a broader strategy by the White House to showcase what the administration calls a return to merit-based governance and the elimination of what it describes as politically motivated policies that disadvantage qualified individuals.

The Warren event marked a continuation of Trump’s outreach to Midwest voters, especially in key industrial states that proved decisive in his 2024 re-election victory.
