A far-left Minnesota organization is putting Democratic politicians on notice with rhetoric that sounds more like a threat than a policy appeal. Minnesota 50501 announced a direct action planned for November 7 in St. Paul while warning Democrats about the consequences of failing to meet its demands.
The message was blunt. In a post shared with “Solidarity Picnic Twin Cities” and “the_taxpayers” on Instagram, the group declared: “Democrats: we will eat you if you do nothing.”
The statement accompanied a list of leftist policy demands aimed at Democratic lawmakers. Those demands included prosecuting Trump officials and removing Schumer and Jeffries.
The group also made clear that its political activity would continue beyond voting. The caption stated: “Our commitment to each other does not end on Election Day. No rest until we are all free.”
For an organization using menacing language toward politicians, however, the planned gathering carries a strangely cheerful theme. Organizers circulated a flyer promoting what they called a “solidarity march and jamboree” featuring hot dogs, face painting, music, kids’ games, and other activities.

The organizers said the event is intended to “showcase the collective power of our community and our ability to quickly organize to take care of each other's needs and respond to authoritarianism.” That framing places community activities alongside the group’s broader political message and demands.
The group is also looking for money to make the event happen. Organizers requested donations to cover the cost of the advertised “free hot dogs,” saying financial support is necessary “because we live in a place that makes basic necessities into profit.”
Despite seeking financial help, organizers said they want the gathering to remain free for everyone who attends. Their appeal asked supporters to contribute equipment, transportation, participation, labor, or other services rather than simply showing up.
The volunteer requests included a hot dog cart or food truck and shuttle transportation. Organizers also asked people to participate in the parade and encouraged volunteers to offer “something else that you do that we don't know about that is weird and wonderful and you are willing to do for free.”
Minnesota 50501 presents itself as part of a nonprofit, grassroots organization. The national group claims responsibility for protests opposing ICE as well as “No Kings” demonstrations held around the country.
Questions have also followed the organization’s financial connections. According to the New York Post, the group has been linked to funding that came through dark money donors.
The national organization has faced additional scrutiny over an incident involving its Utah chapter. At a Utah “No Kings” protest, a person described as a chapter “peacekeeper” fired shots at someone who had a gun and killed a bystander.

The Minnesota event’s promotion combines festival attractions with aggressive pressure on Democratic lawmakers. Hot dogs, face painting, music, games, and volunteer shuttles sit alongside the warning that Democrats will be eaten if they fail to act.
The group’s own language leaves little room for mistaking its dissatisfaction with the Democratic Party. Its message is not merely that lawmakers should listen, but that doing nothing will provoke a response from activists demanding action.
Organizers describe their planned event as a demonstration of community power and rapid organization. Yet the political framing surrounding it has drawn attention because the invitation arrives wrapped in rhetoric suggesting violence against the very Democratic politicians the group wants to pressure.
