Robert Burck, better known as New York City’s infamous Times Square “Naked Cowboy,” has thrown his support behind Republican New York gubernatorial candidate Bruce Blakeman. Burck framed the endorsement as a call for leadership grounded in facts while delivering his message through song.

Blakeman highlighted the endorsement in a post on X, writing that “even the Naked Cowboy wants to Fire Kathy Hochul.” The accompanying video showed Burck strumming a guitar decorated with “Bruce Blakeman for Governor” and “www.FireMamdani.com” stickers.

The performance targeted New York Gov. Kathy Hochul, a Democrat, over her policies and leadership. Burck sang that Hochul was advancing a radical political agenda while allowing borders to remain open and bills to rise.

“Hey guys, Naked Cowboy again, endorsing Bruce Blakeman for governor,” Burck said before beginning his song.

Gun Laws Have Changed! Protect yourself by knowing where you can and cannot carry your firearm, so you can travel with confidence.

“Get out the vote, get out there. I wrote a little humble song about it anyway.”

Burck opened his musical pitch by declaring that New Yorkers had grown weary of taxes and political games. “It’s time for a leader who sticks to the facts,” he sang.

The Naked Cowboy then contrasted Blakeman with state leadership in Albany. “While Albany stumbles and wastes every dime, Bruce Blakeman is ready to crack down on crime.”

His sharpest lyrics focused directly on Hochul and the consequences he attributed to her policies. “Old Kathy keeps pushing that radical scheme of left-wing delusion, a bureaucrat’s dream.”

Burck also sang, “She opens up the borders and lets the bills rise, while working-class New Yorkers pay for her lies.” He presented Blakeman as the practical alternative, praising the Republican candidate’s vision and desire to leave reckless policies behind.

The song continued with promises about taxes, spending, and state government. “He’ll lower your tax bills and cut the waste, bring common sense back to the governor’s place,” Burck sang.

Burck also stated through the song that “the choice is clear” between Blakeman and Hochul. His endorsement added another public voice to Blakeman’s campaign as the Republican challenges the governor.

The performance followed an October debate in which Blakeman criticized Hochul over illegal immigration and cooperation with federal authorities. Breitbart News reported that he faulted her for supporting criminal illegal migrants and refusing to arrest, convict, and transfer them to federal authorities.

During the debate, Hochul attacked U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement and said, “ICE is out of control, it’s out of control in Nassau County,” where Blakeman serves as county executive. She cited the case of a boy who was 11 and cried after his father was detained during an ICE raid.

Blakeman rejected Hochul’s characterization and argued that ICE had removed more than 2,000 illegal migrants with criminal convictions. He maintained that the removals made streets in Nassau County safer and criticized Hochul for supporting a criminal who had a lengthy record.

Blakeman also said Nassau County had experienced no unrest or violence connected to ICE operations. He noted that there had been no incidents at schools, hospitals, or churches while immigration officers carried out their duties in the county.

The Republican candidate further argued that communities become safer when local governments cooperate with ICE. His position stood in direct opposition to Hochul’s description of the agency and its activities in Nassau County.

Actor and comedian Michael Rapaport also recently disclosed that he voted for Blakeman for governor rather than Hochul. His announcement placed another entertainment figure alongside the Republican candidate before Burck unveiled his Times Square endorsement song.

During an August appearance on Breitbart News Daily, Blakeman said he held an advantage compared with Lee Zeldin when Zeldin ran against Hochul. Zeldin is now the administrator of the Environmental Protection Agency.

Blakeman argued that Hochul did not have a record to defend when Zeldin ran four years earlier because she had recently become governor after Cuomo left office. He also said New York electric bills were 70% higher than the national average.

“I have a big advantage over Lee Zeldin because when he ran four years ago, Kathy Hochul didn’t have a report card,” Blakeman said.

Blakeman described New York as the most heavily taxed and regulated state in the country. “And right now, we are the most overtaxed state in the United States of America. We’re the most overregulated state.”
