Crystal Hefner has accused her late husband, Playboy founder Hugh Hefner, of rape and other sexual abuse during their relationship, offering a graphic account of alleged encounters that she said left her uncomfortable and physically hurting. She made the accusations Tuesday on the “Lisa Guerrero Unleashed” podcast, as reported by Page Six.
Asked whether she believes she was raped, Crystal, 40, said she complied with whatever Hugh wanted. “I do believe that I did whatever he wanted me to do. And if that involved sex, then I just did what he wanted me to do,” she recalled.
“There were times that were really uncomfortable for me in the bedroom,” she said. “In the bedroom things would happen that ended up just not being OK.”
One of her most disturbing allegations involved twins Kristina and Karissa Shannon. Crystal accused Hugh of trying to shove their heads toward each other’s vaginas in an effort to make them engage sexually, conduct Crystal condemned as incest.
“That is incest. That is disgusting,” Crystal said. “I didn’t want them to have to do something like that with each other. So that was very, very hard.”
She also alleged that Hugh forced her and other playmates to use visibly dirty sex toys. “I remember him pulling them out and one of them was a black, double-sided one. You could see they were dirty and he’s just grabbing us and grabbing our crotches and grabbing these dirty [sex toys] and just shoving them in us.”
When host Lisa Guerrero said the account “sounds like rape,” Crystal agreed. “He’s not gentle,” she said. “After, he’s snoring and I’m like trying to sleep after what happened and my body’s in pain.”
Crystal further claimed some acts Hugh performed with other women, involving anal and vaginal penetration, were “not cool.” She said he “just needed more of a high or stimulation” and added, “There was nothing intimate about anything to do with him.”
The podcast conversation also turned to Jon Lovitz, whom Crystal called the Playboy Mansion’s “No. 1 customer.” She claimed he visited frequently and watched women entering parties.
“He would be up there all the time,” Crystal recalled. “His eyes would go front to back [looking at] all the women that walked through the door at the party.”
A representative for Kristina and Karissa did not respond to Page Six’s request for comment. Karissa had previously described having sex with Hugh as “like rape.”
Crystal and Hugh married in 2012 and remained married until his death in September 2017. He died from cardiac arrest and respiratory failure at age 91.

Earlier this month, Crystal said she “experienced sexual, emotional, financial and physical abuse” at Hugh’s hands in a message to Jessica Biel. She urged Biel not to portray Hugh’s wife in the forthcoming film “Playmates.”
In that plea, Crystal also pointed to allegations made by other women. “Many other women have come forward with allegations of rape, coercion, drugging and exploitation as well,” she wrote.
In August, she revisited her five year marriage on the “No One Asked Her” podcast with Firerose, the former wife of Billy Ray Cyrus. Crystal said she believed she had been “absolutely brainwashed” and noted that 70 employees supervised her while she lived at the mansion.
Her 2024 memoir, “Only Say Good Things: Surviving Playboy and Finding Myself,” alleged that Hugh tried to control her by directing her clothing and telling her to lose weight. Since his death, Crystal has said she was never “in love” with him and has criticized his sexual skills and the mansion’s “gross” conditions.
Crystal later began a relationship with marine biologist James Ward. The couple started dating in 2024 and married in April.
