Supporters of Democratic congressional candidate Chris Gallant are putting his unusual modeling history front and center as he campaigns for a House seat on Long Island. Gallant, 37, is challenging Rep. Nick LaLota (R-NY) in the upcoming elections, and the pitch is anything but standard suburban fare, as reported by Page Six.
$100 used to fill an entire grocery cart. Today, it barely fills two bags.
Long Island families are paying more, and Nick LaLota keeps rubber-stamping policies that make life even more expensive, from a budget that took away healthcare from 63,000 Long Islanders and food assistance to supporting another war with Iran that can drive up energy and everyday costs. My Mission Plan is focused on one thing Washington keeps forgetting: making life more affordable for working families in Long Island and serving our people. Lower costs. Lower prescription drug prices. Fight price gouging. Protect the Child Tax Credit. Put Long Island families first. We can’t afford more of the same. It’s time for real leadership and real solutions. #longisland #suffolkcountyny #affordability — Chris Gallant (@_gallantny) August 7, 2026
Gallant previously appeared in images for Mr. S Leather, a San Francisco seller of fetish supplies. The photographs showed him wearing collars, leather straps, neoprene, bondage equipment, and other gear associated with the retailer.
The images eventually made national headlines, placing Gallant’s past modeling work squarely in the political spotlight. Rather than retreat from the attention, the candidate responded with a colorful comparison during an interview with the New York Times.
“I make Christian Grey look like amateur hour,” Gallant said. The candidate is also a Black Hawk helicopter pilot, volunteer firefighter, and member of the Army National Guard, where he has served since 2006.

Now, as Election Day approaches, Democratic supporters are receiving campaign material that leans directly into the fetish-themed controversy. The mailer deploys wording and images that would be hard to mistake for a conventional congressional appeal.
“Washington has gone to the attack dogs. It’s time for Long Island to send a Good Boy to Congress,” the mailer said. The words “Good Boy” appeared in bold, making the intended centerpiece of the pitch especially clear.
The other side featured an image of a dog tag and a dog collar decorated with a heart. It described Gallant as “Loyal, Trained, Comes When Called” and “Guards Home,” while also highlighting parts of his record.
Among the accomplishments listed was Gallant’s enlistment as an Army pilot at 17. The card also included a photograph of the candidate wearing a tight black shirt and jeans, completing a campaign presentation that mixed biography with an unmistakably suggestive theme.

At least one Democratic insider supporting Gallant was surprised enough by the mailer to research its language. The supporter said the phrase carried a meaning that extended well beyond the usual political promise of loyalty.
“I had to look it up when I got the mailer, but ‘Good Boy’ means someone who’s obedient in bondage… it’s sex slang,” the insider said. That discovery did not cost Gallant the person’s vote, but it hardly produced a glowing review of the strategy.

“It doesn’t really help his cause in suburban Suffolk County!” the insider said. That blunt assessment came from someone still planning to vote for Gallant, making it an awkward bit of feedback from inside the Democratic tent.
The mailer was sent by a PAC called Knock Every Door, which was described in the report as supporting Gallant. His press representative did not respond to a request for comment about the unusual promotional material.
Gallant’s lawyer had previously said the photographs were authentic and came from a private, consensual photo session involving Gallant and his partner at the time. According to the lawyer, Gallant was in a committed relationship with that partner for four years.
The lawyer also said Gallant was friends with the owner of Mr. S Leather. The session was intended to be personal and fun, with an understanding that the retailer could use selected photographs in connection with certain products.

The latest mailer ensures those old images are not merely lingering online as an inconvenient chapter from the candidate’s past. Instead, supporters have turned the theme into an explicit political marketing device featuring collars, commands, obedience jokes, and one very bold “Good Boy.”
Whether that approach wins over suburban voters remains unanswered in the source. What is clear is that a congressional campaign, a fetish retailer, bondage slang, and Democratic campaign mail have now landed in the same very spicy Long Island political story.
