Border Czar Tom Homan delivered a blunt warning to migrants traveling through Mexico toward the United States: They should expect to be turned away, arrested, prosecuted, or deported under the Trump administration.

The caravan is approaching the border ahead of the midterm elections. More than 400 aliens from Honduras entered Mexico on Thursday while traveling toward the United States, according to confirmation cited from Reuters.

Over the weekend that the group was marching toward the American border. Homan responded by emphasizing that migrants who arrive will not be released into the United States.

Independent reporter Anthony Aguero identified Proyecto Faro and the Adventist Development and Relief Agency, commonly called ADRA, as the two principal nongovernmental organizations assisting the caravan.

According to Aguero, Proyecto Faro is an immigrant support nonprofit based in Rockland County, New York. He reported that its funding comes from a combination of foundations, nonprofit organizations, and government grants.

Aguero identified the Harry Donenfeld Foundation as a main source of funding for Proyecto Faro. The foundation is named for Harry Donenfeld, an immigrant who helped found DC Comics.

He also named the Gitlin Family Foundation as another major donor. Aguero further listed the Freedom Together Foundation, which Barbara Picower established in 2012 as the JPB Foundation before it was renamed Freedom Together in 2024.

According to Aguero, the money behind that foundation came from the estate of Picower’s late husband, Jeffry Picower. He also wrote that their earlier Picower Foundation donated to other causes.

ADRA stands for the Adventist Development and Relief Agency and serves as the humanitarian arm of the Seventh-day Adventist Church. Aguero described the church as a Christian denomination.

Aguero reported that the United States government, primarily through USAID, has been ADRA’s largest funder. He said the organization received roughly $385 million through more than 100 awards.

In August 2026, ADRA was named a partner in the State Department’s new Faith and Community Initiative, according to the information Aguero provided. The organization’s reported role comes as the caravan continues traveling north through Mexico.

Homan, meanwhile, focused squarely on what the migrants can expect at the border. He said they will be returned to their home countries or sent to a third party country.

“They’ll be immediately turned around, or they’ll be arrested and prosecuted and deported,” Homan said.

Homan also insisted that the Trump administration would not release migrants apprehended at the border. He tied that enforcement position directly to a promise made by President Trump.

“Zero releases from the border under the Trump administration. President Trump promised that. He’s going to keep that promise,” he said.

The Border Czar then urged voters to remember the number of illegal crossings previously seen at the border. He contrasted those images with current demands to abolish the agency responsible for locating and deporting illegal aliens.

“I hope voters are paying attention,” Homan said. “Remember the images of 12,000 illegals per day coming across the border. Now they want to abolish the agency that finds them and deports them!”

His warning left little ambiguity for the migrants traveling north. The Trump administration’s stated response is immediate removal, with arrest, prosecution, and deportation also possible for those who attempt to enter illegally.
