Gomez continued, “Eyewitnesses and local media reported that the animal was handled as if it were an object and violently struck on the head with a stick, causing its immediate death.”

Her account reflected the outrage spreading among residents after the footage emerged.

She described the alleged treatment of the dolphin as an act of “extreme and unjustifiable cruelty” that must not be allowed to go unanswered.

Gomez also noted that dolphins are protected under Spanish and European law, placing additional pressure on authorities to identify those involved.

Residents have demanded prosecutions for the men seen abusing the animal, with some also calling for their expulsion from Spain.
