A live television report about a fatal car crash in Poland took a horrifying turn when another collision unfolded directly behind the reporter. The camera captured a driver striking a 14-year-old girl as she rode an e-bike along the side of a country road in Kościerzyna.

The impact shattered the car’s windshield and hurled the teenager through the air, according to the US Sun. The startling moment occurred while reporter Miłosz Sieliwończyk was broadcasting live for TVP.info from the scene of a separate deadly crash.

That earlier collision had killed a young boy, making the sudden second wreck even more disturbing. Sieliwończyk was delivering his report when a loud impact and a warning from his camera operator pulled his attention away from the broadcast.

“At one point, I heard a bang behind me and the operator’s shout: ‘Oh Jesus!’” he said. The reporter immediately turned around to determine what had happened just outside the camera’s original focus.

What he saw was a damaged vehicle moving away and the injured child on the road. “When I turned around, I saw a car driving away with a shattered windshield and a child lying there.”

As the driver sped off, Sieliwończyk quickly told his cameraman to zoom in on the vehicle’s license plate. His goal was to capture identifying information that could be reported to police after the shocking collision.

The reporter then left his broadcast position and walked over to help the teenager. He and the camera operator approached the injured girl, who was unable to stand after being struck.

Sieliwończyk also saw blood stains on what he described as the scooter. The footage and his account presented a chaotic scene, with the live news crew suddenly forced to respond to an emergency unfolding within sight of another fatal crash.

First responders arrived at the scene within three minutes. The injured teenager asked for someone to call her mother, adding another deeply personal moment to a scene already marked by two serious traffic incidents.

The girl’s mother arrived on a bicycle a few minutes later.

The motorist did not remain gone. According to the US Sun, the driver returned to the scene a few moments later and was reportedly in a state of shock.

Sieliwończyk described the driver’s unusual reaction after getting out of the vehicle. “He must have been in shock, too, because he got out of the car and asked if something had happened,” Sieliwończyk said.

The return added another startling moment to an already harrowing sequence. The driver had just struck the girl hard enough to shatter the windshield, yet Sieliwończyk said the motorist stepped out and asked whether something had occurred.

The reporter’s response moved quickly from documenting one deadly crash to assisting at the scene of another collision. He first directed the cameraman to capture the license plate, then went to the injured teenager while emergency help was on the way.

What began as a TVP.info report about the death of a young boy became a live record of another child being struck on the same country road. The camera captured the impact, the damaged windshield, the injured girl, and the vehicle leaving the immediate scene.

The footage also recorded how quickly the news crew reacted when the broadcast suddenly became part of the story. Within minutes, first responders and the teenager’s mother had arrived, while the shocked driver had returned to face the wreckage left behind.
