Christina Applegate has appeared in a new video for the first time since returning home from an extended hospital stay. The actress, 54, smiled for the camera while revealing a freshly updated hairstyle, as reported by Page Six.

Applegate showed off her long hair after having it colored in her signature light blonde shade. Her blown-out hair was styled straight for the brief clip, which she shared Monday.

She wore an unzipped black hoodie over a black tank top and completed the outfit with jeans. Applegate also accessorized with several layered necklaces.

The actress drew attention to both her refreshed hair and a small mark on her face. “Fresh hair color, new weird spot on my cheek haha,” she wrote alongside the upload.

Applegate thanked hairstylist Dave Stanwell for helping brighten a difficult day. “Thank you @davestanwell for brightening up my cloudy day. Love you and love to you all out there.”

Fans quickly filled the comments with supportive messages about her appearance and strength. One person wrote, “You’re looking as beautiful as ever. ”

Another fan compared Applegate’s appearance to her years on the sitcom “Married With Children.”

The video surfaced more than a month after Applegate was discharged from the hospital following a stay that began in March. She has been living with multiple sclerosis since 2021.

An insider told TMZ early in August that the “Dead to Me” actress was back at home and doing well after the lengthy stay. The exact reason for her admission was not disclosed.

Her representative addressed the situation in a statement to Page Six at the time. “She’s had a long history of complicated medical conditions that she has been refreshingly open about.”

Applegate had previously acknowledged her hospitalization in an April message without sharing specific details. “Thank you for the outpouring of love and well wishes,” she wrote.

She continued by describing health struggles as an ongoing part of her life while emphasizing her strength.

“Health issues are a constant for me, but I’m a strong chick, and I’m getting stronger and better every day.”

Applegate also told fans that she was stepping back temporarily to prioritize her health. “I’m taking a moment to focus on my health, but I’ll be back with more to say soon enough.”

An insider who worked with Applegate on “Married … With Children” told the Daily Mail that Katey Sagal and Ed O’Neill were among those distressed by her hospital stay.

Will Ferrell, Jean Smart and Linda Cardellini had also reached out in support, according to the insider.

“They don’t think this is it for her; she’s not dying right now,” the insider claimed. “But they wanted to make sure that nothing was left unsaid.”

The insider added that the group openly expressed their affection for one another. “They told each other that they love each other.”

In June, David Faustino offered his own perspective on Applegate’s health journey during an interview with Us Weekly.

He said humor remained an important part of how she handled her circumstances.

“She gets through this with some humor, and that’s kind of her way that she moves through it,” Faustino told the outlet. “I do a lot of visits with her. A lot of texting, a lot of checking in.”

The hospitalization followed other medical challenges Applegate has discussed publicly.

In August 2025, she told listeners of the “MeSsy” podcast that a kidney infection had left her “screaming” in the hospital with “so much pain.”

During a February interview with People, Applegate said she was generally confined to bed but continued trying to take her daughter, Sadie LeNoble, 15, to school. She called that routine her “favorite thing to do.”

“I tell myself, ‘Just get her there safely and get home so you can get back into bed.’ And that’s what I do,” Applegate told the outlet.
