A 49-year-old visitor was airlifted to a nearby hospital after suffering fractures to both legs during an incident Saturday on a Batman-themed roller coaster at Parque Warner Madrid in Spain, according to local reports.

The incident occurred on the Batman Gotham City Escape ride at the theme park, which confirmed the incident in a post on X.

Europa Press, citing emergency officials, reported that the man suffered an open fracture to his left leg and a closed fracture to his right leg. First responders treated him at the scene before he was transported by air to a nearby hospital.

Parque Warner said the ride was stopped immediately following the incident.

“The affected person was attended to immediately by emergency medical services,” Parque Warner said.

The Batman: Gotham City Escape opened at Parque Warner in 2023. According to the park, it was Spain’s first multi-launch roller coaster.

The attraction uses three launches to propel riders upward at high speeds and includes four inversions, during which riders are briefly suspended upside down.

“There were people crying and having anxiety attacks,” he said.
