Actor James Woods criticized Senate Majority Leader John Thune while discussing election integrity, federal spending, and the direction of the country, arguing that Washington has failed to address major issues facing Americans.

Woods opened his remarks by questioning why Thune has not supported the SAVE America Act.

"Well, well, John Thune. It's well. My message is: Who owns you? Who owns you?" Woods said. "Because you're not doing anything for the United States."

He argued that support for the legislation extends well beyond Republican voters.

"Who wants the Save America Act? This is a trick question, by the way. Everyone," Woods said.

According to Woods, polling shows broad bipartisan support for the measure.

"It's something like 82 percent of Republicans and 75 percent of Democrats."

Woods then reflected on his political background, noting that he spent many years as a Democrat.

"I was a Democrat for decades because I grew up in New England. Was kind of a Kennedy Democrat," he said.

He praised President John F. Kennedy and Sen. Robert F. Kennedy for what he described as their commitment to improving the country.

"We knew the Kennedys had their flaws, but you know, they John Kennedy, Bobby Kennedy, they they really believed in, you know, a genuine great society."

Woods also credited them with supporting civil rights reforms.

"They believed in overturning all these horrible Jack Jim Crow laws, and the they did a lot for America in a good way."

He argued, however, that later politicians transformed those efforts into opportunities for personal gain.

"Then of course people took the great society and turned it into a grift because they're always going to do that," Woods said. "They're always going to end up. How can we make money on it?"

Woods said the nation's growing debt poses one of the greatest long-term threats to the country.

"The fact that we have a $38 trillion deficit is going to end up being one of the most catastrophic engines of destruction of this country, eventually."

Recalling conversations with his mother about the Great Depression, Woods described the hardships she witnessed growing up.

"My mother grew up during the Great Depression," he said. "She says, 'Jimmy, you don't know what the depression was like.'"

He continued by recounting her description of the era.

"Nobody had any money," Woods said. "People would have, you know, a hot dog for dinner, a hamburger, and that a whole family would divide it up."

Woods warned that the United States could face similar economic conditions if the national debt continues to grow unchecked.

"It's not a joke," he said. "The bottom line is, it was a horrible, horrible, horrible time in this country, and we're set for it again."

He questioned where the nation's borrowed money has gone and accused government officials of allowing widespread fraud.

"What is it? Well, we're $38 trillion in deficit. Wow, where did that money all go?" Woods asked.

He continued, "Well, here's a bunch of guys from Somalia, and you know they've taken several trillion of it, and it's all a scam. It's all crooked."

Woods also criticized Democratic policies on gender issues, immigration, and policing.

"Oh, and by the way, the same people want to, you know, castrate children because they like the color pink and they want to do all this," Woods said.

Clarifying his remarks, he added, "I'm speaking metaphorically before you all lose your shit, okay? But they certainly want to do chemical castrations and so on."

He continued, "We're talking about, you know, we want an open border and defund the police and all the rest of it."

Turning to the COVID-19 pandemic, Woods argued that it served a political purpose.

"COVID was not a pandemic; it was a trial run," he said. "And don't think it wasn't, because if Donald Trump weren't running for re-election that year, COVID would never have existed."

Woods acknowledged critics would disagree with his assessment but maintained that many claims once dismissed as conspiracy theories have since been validated.

"Say I'm a right-wing lunatic. Say whatever you're going. I don't give a shit, okay?" Woods said. "Because almost every single conspiracy theory that was touted five years ago is coming true."

He also revisited allegations surrounding the investigation into Russian interference during President Donald Trump's first term.

"You want to talk about the Russia hoax?" Woods asked. "Yep."

He added, "Hillary Clinton, by the way, sold half her uranium to the Russians, so on, and censured liar Adam Schiff, you know, got together and they promoted this thing."

Referring to Special Counsel Robert Mueller's investigation, Woods said, "The guy comes out and goes, well, it's all a lie."

Woods concluded that the investigation prevented Trump from fully implementing the agenda voters elected him to pursue.

"Why did we interrupt a presidency for almost the entire three years and not let him get on with his agenda?" Woods asked. "That's what we voted for."

"So when you're doing it to him," he said, "you're doing it to us."
