Rep. Brandon Gill raised concerns about radical Islam operating inside the United States, arguing that its presence is the result of deliberate immigration policy decisions and poses a threat to American values and governance.

Gill framed his remarks around what he described as a growing security and cultural challenge, questioning how extremist ideologies have taken root domestically.

“Why are we seeing terrorists detached from radical Islam within our own borders? Where did this come from?” Gill said.

He argued that Islam has not historically been part of the American experience and contrasted it with the country’s founding.

“Islam is largely alien to American history,” Gill said.

“It certainly didn't come into the into the United States on the Mayflower.”

Gill said the ideology entered the country through intentional policy choices rather than organic cultural development.

“It's something that we deliberately imported as a matter of immigration policy into our country,” he said, adding that he believes the consequences mirror developments overseas.

“And it's going to destroy us just like it's destroying Europe right now,” Gill said.

Gill emphasized what he sees as a responsibility for lawmakers and citizens to defend foundational American principles against foreign belief systems he says conflict with the nation’s constitutional structure.

“It's our job to stand up to that, to stand up for our values and to prohibit alien cultures and alien ideologies that do not comport with our own government governing framework,” he said.

He also highlighted his involvement in a congressional group focused on preventing the influence of Islamic law in the United States.

“And that's why I'm proud to be part of the Sharia Free America caucus,” Gill said.
