Scott Adams disclosed a serious health update to his audience, saying his radiologist delivered what he described as uniformly negative news about his condition and prospects for recovery.

“I will give you a little bit of a heads up. I talked to my radiologist yesterday. He was working on the day before New Year's, and it's all bad news,” Adams said.

“So the the odds of me recovering are essentially zero.”

Adams said there is no expectation that he will regain feeling in his legs and that his condition is not expected to improve.

“So we'll I'll give you any updates if that changes, but it won't. So there's no chance I'll get my feeling back in my legs,” he said.

In addition to the loss of sensation, Adams said he is dealing with ongoing heart failure that has affected his breathing.

“And I've got some ongoing heart failure, which is making it difficult to breathe sometimes during the day, but at the moment, I can breathe and I'm not in any pain,” he said.

Adams warned viewers that January could represent a significant turning point.

“However, you should prepare yourself that January will be a probably a month of transition, one way or the other,” he said.

“Now I haven't made decisions, but it was all bad news, no good news at all.”

Despite the diagnosis, Adams said he plans to continue working and maintaining his routine for as long as possible.

“So I will keep doing this as long as it makes sense, because I like doing it keeps me busy,” he said.

Adams said he remains highly engaged with current events, even as his personal health situation worsens.

“You know, what's weird is that I have much bigger problems than the stuff I'm talking about in the news, but I'm so interested in what's happening in the world. It's very engaging, totally engaging,” he said.

He said he intends to continue producing content daily.

“So after the show, I will continue doing robust read, news comic, which I do every day. I try to and I'll try to make some new comics, Dilbert comics, and I'll just act like nothing's happening,” Adams said.

He added that maintaining normalcy has been easier than expected.

“Well, I'll just pretend I have no problems, which is weirder. It's easier than you think,” he said.

Adams also discussed how he is managing discomfort and symptoms, including medication and recreational drug use.

“That it will take some painkillers if I need them. There's no real limit to what I can take at this point, and I will probably smoke massive, massive marijuana, because it puts me into a stupor that actually feels kind of good in my current situation,” he said.

He described continuing to work even while impaired.

“If I do a full day's work, which I plan to do, I allow myself to enter the stupor zone yesterday, for example, I was doing work and watching the Warriors game High as a kite. It wasn't bad,” Adams said.

He said the most severe symptom he is currently facing involves prolonged coughing episodes that severely restrict his breathing.

“The only thing that's really bugging me at the moment is the inability to breathe if I get one of these coughing attacks and that could last hours, it could last eight to 12 hours,” he said.

“So it's eight to 12 hours of hell, but it's not always hell.”

Adams said his condition is changing rapidly and that he wanted to keep his audience informed.

“So, but things are changing fast, so I thought I'd give you a little update on that,” he said.

During the update, Adams also asked about the recovery of Victor Davis Hanson following major surgery and expressed hope that Hanson was improving.

“I hope he's doing better than I am,” Adams said.

Adams said he plans to write down his closing thoughts.

“I will probably write down some closing thoughts today, just so I have them, just so you can see what I was thinking in my my final glide path,” he said.

He closed by emphasizing his continued concern for his audience and the country.

“Well, I will tell you that my interest and my empathy for all of you and for Americans in general is very high. So to my final breath. If there's anything I can do to make things better for you, I will definitely do it,” Adams said.

He ended the update by signaling he would continue engaging with viewers.

“All right, people, I'm going to say hi to the locals, beloved people, privately, the rest of you. I'll see you tomorrow. I think.”
