A billboard owner in Oxford, Michigan, says he was threatened and harassed after displaying a “Rest in Peace Charlie Kirk” memorial on one of his signs following the assassination of Turning Point USA co-founder Charlie Kirk.
Bill Rzadkowolski, owner and operator of the billboard through Ad-Rite advertising agency, told The Gateway Pundit he received an angry voicemail from an unidentified woman demanding the sign be removed.
Rzadkowolski said the message was delivered in a hostile tone and included profanity and threats.
The Gateway Pundit provided a transcript of the voicemail it obtained.
In the recording, the caller said: “I’m a citizen here in Oxford, and I’m seeing this “rest in peace, Charlie Kirk” on one of your ad signs. How dare you? This man was a racist, sexist, bigoted, hate spewing man! And you have the nerve to “put rest in peace”? What the hell? I don’t believe in political violence, but this guy was a rabble rouser and a hateful man.
“I demand that you take this bullsh*t down off your sign, immediately! This is hate mongering at its biggest What are you trying to do, start another world war with us? Take the f**king side down, you idiots!”

Rzadkowolski told the outlet he felt the caller was attempting to intimidate him.
“She went out of her way to, perhaps, intimidate me. That billboard is totally for people to use,” he said.
He also pointed to the memorial’s purpose, noting Kirk’s surviving children.
“What she’s defending is that it’s a good idea to have two little orphans,” he continued.
“Wishing somebody the best in the afterlife is a threat to them, apparently.”
Rzadkowolski said he regularly donates ad space for community causes and businesses and that the Kirk memorial was intended as a public tribute.
“We try to help out where we can,” he said, adding that the memorial was a “worthy ad.”
The memorial was placed after the widely reported killing of Charlie Kirk, a 31-year-old husband, father and conservative activist who was shot while speaking at an event at Utah Valley University.
The shooter has been described in various reports as having espoused left-leaning positions; media coverage of the case has included details about the suspect’s alleged views.
The Gateway Pundit also reported that a website called Charlie’s Murderers (charliesmurderers.com) has been created, according to the outlet, as a place for people to report individuals who have celebrated Kirk’s death.
Unfortunately, the website is currently down at the time of this writing.
The site, the outlet said, lists accounts and statements from people it claims cheered the assassination and called for more violence against conservative figures.
The Gateway Pundit published examples it said included posts by a TikTok user and other online accounts urging violence toward Kirk’s family and other conservatives.
The reporting has drawn attention to the tone of some online commentary following Kirk’s death.
The Gateway Pundit noted examples it said involved calls for violence and statements celebrating the killing, and its report urged that some individuals be exposed and potentially investigated if they had threatened violence.
Local reaction in Oxford reflects heightened tensions. Rzadkowolski told the outlet he uses his billboard for local advertising and community messages and said he would continue to allow space for public memorials.
The episode prompted debate among residents and online observers about free expression, public commemoration and the boundaries of protest.
