Vice President JD Vance made headlines during a speech in North Carolina on Wednesday after taking time out of his remarks to share a lighthearted moment with a young supporter who said he skipped school for a chance to meet him, as reported by Fox News.
Vance was speaking on public safety and support for law enforcement when the interruption occurred during a Q&A session. A boy named Henry, seated near the press section, called out to the vice president.

Vance invited him to speak, and Henry told the crowd, “I skipped school today. I was wondering if I could get a picture with you.”

The crowd broke into applause as Vance smiled and welcomed Henry to the stage.
“Henry said ‘I skipped school. Can I have a picture with you?’ Well, I guess I got to have some excuse to skip school, so I might as well get a photo with Henry,” Vance said, drawing cheers from attendees.
Henry, dressed in a red Trump hat and an American flag T-shirt, joined Vance on stage and shook his hand. He pulled out his phone, and the vice president leaned in for the photo while the audience erupted. After patting Henry on the back, Vance returned to the podium.
Keeping the atmosphere light, Vance joked that the next person to ask for a photo might be a reporter, adding that he was not expecting the remaining questions to be so easy. He then shifted back to policy, continuing his remarks on crime and policing.

Vance’s speech focused largely on law and order. He emphasized the need to keep violent offenders incarcerated and praised the efforts of local law enforcement. His comments were met with applause from attendees as he underscored the administration’s support for police officers across the country.
As the event came to a close, Vance returned to the earlier exchange, saying, “Henry, I hope you got the photo you needed,” which prompted another round of applause.

What a class act! It is so refreshing to have real people in the White House after the Biden Crime Syndicate and the Obama Cartel. Henry likely learned more at the speech than he would have in a school year.
