Former New York City Mayor Rudy Giuliani was seriously injured in a car crash in New Hampshire on Saturday night after first stopping to assist a woman fleeing a domestic-violence incident, according to statements from his spokesman and New Hampshire State Police.
Giuliani, 81, was traveling in a rental vehicle when the collision occurred just before 10 p.m. on Interstate 93 in Manchester.
State Police said troopers and fire personnel were already present on the southbound side of the highway addressing a domestic-violence report when they witnessed a two-vehicle crash on the northbound side.
Both vehicles, a Honda HR-V and a Ford Bronco, went into the median and were heavily damaged. Giuliani was riding as a passenger in the Bronco, which was struck from behind by the Honda.
Prior to the accident, Giuliani had stopped to help a woman who flagged him down while fleeing a domestic-violence situation.

According to an official statement shared with Fox News Digital, Giuliani called 911 and stayed with the woman until police arrived.
He later resumed traveling before being involved in the crash.
Michael Ragusa, Giuliani’s spokesman and head of security, confirmed the injuries and provided updates on his condition.
“He is in good spirits and recovering tremendously,” Ragusa told Fox News Digital.
“He’ll be released in a few days and he’s doing great. Conscious, alert, strong. He’ll be back to business as usual this week.”

Ragusa also detailed the extent of Giuliani’s injuries, noting that he was diagnosed with “a fractured thoracic vertebrae,” as well as multiple lacerations, contusions, and injuries to his left arm and lower leg.
Despite the severity, Giuliani is expected to make a full recovery.
In a statement posted on X, Ragusa said the incident was not intentional.
“This was not a targeted attack,” he wrote.

Giuliani’s business partner and medical provider reportedly traveled to the hospital to oversee his care following the collision.
Authorities have not released further details on the condition of the driver of the Honda HR-V or whether impairment or other factors contributed to the crash.
Police indicated their investigation would determine the circumstances behind the collision.
The incident marks another turn in Giuliani’s public life, as the former mayor and onetime personal attorney to President Donald Trump recovers from injuries sustained while traveling in New Hampshire.
