President Donald Trump confirmed Tuesday that he will personally fund the construction of a new state ballroom at the White House, marking the launch of a major project aimed at addressing long-standing space limitations for official events.

Speaking to reporters from the White House rooftop, Trump surveyed the site where the ballroom will be built and commented on the financial commitment he is making to the project.

“More ways to spend my money. We’ll show you. It’s just another way to spend my money for the country,” Trump said.

During his first term in office, President Trump donated his annual salary to various government agencies and public causes.

According to the White House, he will continue the same practice throughout his second term as Commander-in-Chief.

The ballroom construction adds another layer to his personal financial contributions while in office.

Last week, the White House officially announced plans to build a new $200 million ballroom that will serve as a large-scale venue for state functions, ceremonial events, and international delegations.

“For 150 years, Presidents, Administrations, and White House Staff have longed for a large event space on the White House complex that can hold substantially more guests than currently allowed.

President Donald J. Trump has expressed his commitment to solving this problem on behalf of future Administrations and the American people,” the White House said in a statement.

White House officials explained that the current setup severely restricts the ability to host larger functions without relying on temporary outdoor structures.

“The White House is one of the most beautiful and historic buildings in the world, yet the White House is currently unable to host major functions honoring world leaders and other countries without having to install a large and unsightly tent approximately 100 yards away from the main building entrance,” the statement continued.

The new State Ballroom is planned as a 90,000-square-foot facility featuring ornate design elements consistent with the historical character of the White House.

The space will have a seated capacity of 650 people, more than tripling the current 200-person capacity of the East Room, the largest formal event space currently available inside the executive residence.

The new ballroom is intended to enhance the White House’s capabilities for high-level diplomacy and ceremonial events, including state dinners and receptions for visiting heads of state.

The addition is expected to reduce reliance on external accommodations and temporary infrastructure often required during official events.

The project, backed entirely by President Trump’s private funding, is expected to serve not only the current administration but also future presidents, staff, and guests who utilize the White House for major functions.

The ballroom is set to be one of the most significant structural additions to the White House grounds in modern history.
