Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) agents raided the Bethesda, Maryland, home of former Trump National Security Advisor John Bolton early Friday morning as part of an ongoing national security probe, according to officials.
The raid took place at approximately 7 a.m. Federal agents entered Bolton’s residence in connection with an investigation ordered by FBI Director Kash Patel, a senior Trump administration official confirmed.

Shortly after the operation began, Patel posted a message on X stating, “NO ONE is above the law… @FBI agents on mission.”

The investigation reportedly relates to the handling of classified documents, a matter that dates back several years.

A senior U.S. official told The Post that the probe had originally been launched during the Trump administration but was shut down by the Biden administration “for political reasons.”
Bolton has previously faced scrutiny over allegations that his 2020 memoir, The Room Where It Happened, included classified information.
The book detailed his time in the Trump administration and included descriptions of national security discussions.
President Donald Trump objected to its publication, arguing that Bolton had violated a nondisclosure agreement he signed as a condition of his employment by disclosing sensitive national security information.

Despite attempts to block the release, the book was ultimately published in June 2020.
In September 2020, the Department of Justice under Trump opened an inquiry into the matter, examining whether classified material had been improperly included in the memoir.
The outcome of that inquiry was never fully disclosed, but the latest raid suggests the investigation has been revived under new leadership at the bureau.
Bolton has been a prominent critic of President Trump since leaving the administration in 2019.
He has frequently appeared on national television criticizing Trump’s national security and foreign policy decisions. His continued public opposition has kept him at the center of political and legal attention.
The timing of the raid comes just one day after FBI Director Patel revealed that former FBI Director James Comey had authorized leaks of classified documents in the period leading up to the 2016 election.
Patel stated that Comey misled Congress while allowing information to be disclosed.
Patel, who was named FBI Director by President Trump, has pledged to increase accountability inside the federal government and has repeatedly said that he intends to root out corruption and expose past cover-ups.
Officials have not disclosed what, if anything, was seized during Friday’s raid of Bolton’s residence.

The FBI has not commented publicly on the scope of the investigation or whether additional charges may be brought.
Bolton, who served as National Security Advisor from April 2018 until September 2019, has not released a public statement regarding the raid. His representatives also did not respond to requests for comment following Friday morning’s events.
The raid marks the latest development in a series of high-profile federal enforcement actions tied to the handling of classified documents.
Investigators are expected to continue reviewing the materials in question to determine whether Bolton violated federal law by including sensitive information in his published work or retaining classified records without authorization.

I never liked Bolton from day one. He was a wise guy, smart mouth, power-hungry bureaucrat, and his mouth got him in trouble with Trump.

Describe what you consider to be “unfit” to be President. Do you think Biden was “fit”?
Trump is a petty, ignorant, egomaniacal, undisciplined blowhard without a principled bone in his body for whom I in both 2020 & 2024 because the alternatives were even worse for different reasons. He is also not a Republican or a conservative by any stretch of the imagination. Biden was also unfit to hold office for some of the same reasons.
And, you’re basing that on a self-serving, one-sided, biased book [ghost]written by Bolton – whose word couldn’t be trusted if he was telling you the weather?
President Trump certainly has a big ego, but only someone with a strong ego would be able to withstand the last ten years of government-sponsored attacks and weaponized judiciary that he has. So, yeah, thank GOD for that because we are all better off because of him.

He also disclosed classified information, which is OK with you as long as a Democrat does it. Trump never claimed to be a “Republican”. He’s an American. A Make America Great Again man. Bolton was right on the money when the issue was Hillary and Bengazi. But his mouth and ego got him fired by Trump in his 1st term and an investigation was started but halted by Biden. This is just a continuation of the original investigation concerning his Book. It is not revenge as the Media and Democrats try to claim. As the investigation has progressed some serious misteps by Bolton have been uncovered. Bolton is most likely looking at a long prison term.
The only thing that concerns me is a door bell should be rung and people given a chance to answer it. These raids are not drug raids where the perps are going to flushing the drugs down the toilet. We have a warrant and a high profile person in an upscale neighborhood who is not expecting police to arrive with a warrant. Property Damage is not called for except as a last resort. It goes to show the need for training of the FBI. They obviously don’t know how to execute a simple search warrant.
Oh, you mean like when they raided Trump’s home and broke down doors, went through Melania’s private drawers and made fun of her clothing, and lined up a bunch of empty boxes for a photo to release that supposedly showed the dozens of boxes of material Trump “stole”, when in reality it was just two (2) boxes of documents. But the dozens of them looked much more egregious.
