Hunter Biden’s career as a licensed attorney in Washington, D.C., is heading for a final shutdown.

The son of former President Joe Biden has agreed to permanent disbarment, ending whatever illusion remained of his professional legal status in the nation’s capital, as reported by Newsmax.

According to a sealed affidavit filed Tuesday in the D.C. Court of Appeals, Biden consented to the disbarment recommendation handed down by the D.C. Bar’s Board on Professional Responsibility.

Once the court officially signs off on it, Biden will no longer be allowed to practice law in Washington, D.C.—not that he ever actually did.

Let’s not forget, Hunter Biden’s law license was suspended last June, shortly after he was found guilty in Delaware for lying about his drug use while obtaining a firearm. That case came on top of his guilty plea in California, where he admitted to multiple tax crimes.

For most Americans, these would be career-ending, freedom-threatening convictions. But not for someone with the last name “Biden.”

Despite never actively practicing law in the capital, Hunter was admitted to the D.C. Bar in 2007.

He paid the $331 annual fee to keep his membership alive while holding a cushy “of counsel” position at Boies Schiller Flexner LLP—a gig that just happened to coincide with his father’s stint as vice president. That law firm, by the way, is no stranger to deep establishment ties.

The D.C. Bar’s Office of Disciplinary Counsel didn’t mince words. They treat felonies as “serious crimes,” which triggered the proceedings leading to Biden’s license suspension and now, disbarment.

The appeals court then directed the bar to launch formal action, which Biden ultimately chose not to fight. Instead, he folded and signed off on his own professional demise—under seal, of course.

His legal troubles may be following him across state lines. Though he still technically holds a license in Connecticut, it's currently suspended too, thanks to his failure to pay a required fee. Seems like even basic compliance isn’t a priority for the president’s son.

To top it all off, former President Joe Biden, in one of his final acts before exiting office, gave Hunter a “full and unconditional pardon.” That move came after promising repeatedly to stay out of his son's legal messes. So much for that.

At this point, the Biden family brand of accountability seems more about PR than the rule of law.

While the media keeps playing defense for the first family, the facts speak for themselves: felony convictions, backroom deals, and now, a permanent ban from legal practice in the heart of the American justice system.
