Former White House press secretary Karine Jean-Pierre is up in arms over how President Donald Trump is handling the White House press pool, likening it to authoritarian state-run media, as reported by Breitbart.

Appearing on ABC’s “The View” on Tuesday, Jean-Pierre lashed out at the Trump administration for overriding the White House Correspondents’ Association, drawing absurd comparisons to regimes like Russia and North Korea.

Jean-Pierre claimed:

“If you look at the Associated Press, they are the oldest wire in the press briefing room. And you think about journalists, you think about the reason they’re in the press briefing room, you think about the reason they’re in the pool, it’s called a protective pool, there are 13 members of the pool — I’m trying not to get too wonky here — and their job is to provide unbiased information to the American people because the American people deserve that.”

Unbiased? That’s a stretch. The same media that spent years pushing false narratives about Trump’s presidency is now crying foul because they aren’t getting the full control they want.

Jean-Pierre continued her tirade, saying:

“And when the White House press team decides to step in and override the White House Correspondents’ Association, who — they have the job of doing that, then what we’re looking at is state TV. What we’re looking at is what Russia is doing. What we’re looking at is what North Korea is doing. And we are doing — they are attacking the fiber of the freedom of the press. They are destroying it because they want to be covered in a friendly way.”

It’s ironic that the same corporate media that pushed censorship during the previous administration and worked hand-in-hand with leftist elites to suppress opposing voices is now suddenly worried about “freedom of the press.”

What Jean-Pierre and her allies really mean is that they want free rein to spin the news however they please, and anything less than complete control is an “attack.”

She then doubled down, claiming the world is watching America’s approach to journalism.

“Other countries are wondering, what are we saying as the United States? What is it that we want to do? And it is an exercise of democracy. It is the cornerstone of democracy, the freedom of the press. It is the Fourth Estate, and we are supposed to be leading that as the most powerful country in the world.”

No one is stopping the press from reporting. The issue here is that the White House is refusing to let the same activists posing as journalists dictate the narrative.

The leftist media is melting down because they no longer have the privileged access they feel entitled to. Jean-Pierre’s complaints sound less like a defense of democracy and more like a bitter reaction to losing control over the White House messaging.
