As activist judges continue to obstruct President Donald Trump’s policies with legal roadblocks, Florida Governor Ron DeSantis has put forth a bold solution: Congress should strip federal courts of their jurisdiction.

As Fox News reported, DeSantis slammed the judicial sabotage of Trump’s agenda as entirely predictable and called on lawmakers to take action.

DeSantis posted Wednesday on X:

“Congress has the authority to strip jurisdiction of the federal courts to decide these cases in the first place. The sabotaging of President Trump’s agenda by ‘resistance’ judges was predictable — why no jurisdiction-stripping bills tee’d up at the onset of this Congress?”

DeSantis, who had sought the 2024 Republican presidential nomination before exiting the race and endorsing Trump, made his remarks in response to a post from Rep. Chip Roy (R-TX).

Roy had been discussing the broader fight against judicial overreach, urging that “everything [should be] on the table” when reviewing radical court rulings.

He suggested that the House could officially declare there is an invasion at the southern border and defund activist courts that are undermining immigration enforcement.

The discussion comes amid growing Republican frustration with left-wing judges who have consistently undermined Trump’s policies.

The latest example of judicial activism came from Judge James E. Boasberg of the U.S. District Court for the District of Columbia, whom Trump blasted as a “radical left lunatic” and an “agitator” in a Truth Social post on Tuesday.

Trump did not hold back, pointing out that Boasberg was appointed by none other than Barack Obama.

“This Radical Left Lunatic of a Judge, a troublemaker and agitator who was sadly appointed by Barack Hussein Obama, was not elected President. This judge, like many of the Crooked Judges’ I am forced to appear before, should be IMPEACHED!!! WE DON’T WANT VICIOUS, VIOLENT, AND DEMENTED CRIMINALS, MANY OF THEM DERANGED MURDERERS, IN OUR COUNTRY.”

Rep. Brandon Gill (R-TX) responded swiftly, announcing that he had officially introduced articles of impeachment against Boasberg.

Predictably, the left is already circling the wagons to protect their judicial operatives. U.S. Supreme Court Chief Justice John Roberts attempted to downplay the issue, stating on Tuesday:

“For more than two centuries, it has been established that impeachment is not an appropriate response to disagreement concerning a judicial decision. The normal appellate review process exists for that purpose.”

But conservatives aren’t buying the establishment’s excuses. Judicial activism has reached a breaking point, and DeSantis’ proposal is gaining traction among those who recognize that Trump’s agenda cannot be held hostage by unelected leftist judges.
