ESPN host Stephen A. Smith has once again weighed in on the Democratic Party’s potential 2028 presidential contenders, despite repeatedly stating that he has no interest in running for office.
Smith, who appeared in a recent poll listing possible Democratic candidates, used the survey results to criticize the party’s lack of strong leadership.
Speaking on The Stephen A. Smith Show, Smith argued that his inclusion in the poll is a reflection of the Democratic Party’s weak bench heading into the next election cycle.

“If you’re the Democrats, that’s why Stephen A. Smith is in the news,” Smith said.
“Because y’all don’t have anybody. You don’t have anybody. Who you got? Who you got?”

Smith then took aim at Vice President Kamala Harris, warning that she should not attempt a 2028 run.
“Kamala Harris better not run. She better not run. She’s not going to win a presidency in 2028!” Smith said.
“Keep in mind respect for her. I’m not going to disrespect the former Vice President of the United States. I will never do that, but we gotta be real about something here. When she ran for election on her own, she couldn’t make it to Iowa in 2020.”
Harris ended her presidential campaign in December 2019 before the first Democratic caucuses took place in Iowa.
She later became Joe Biden’s running mate and was elected as vice president in 2020.
Smith also criticized Biden’s decision to seek reelection, arguing that Democrats originally wanted him to serve as a transitional president.
“They win the election in 2020. Joe Biden is feeling himself after the liberals won the midterms, and instead of being a transitional president like he promised, the man backstabbed the Liberal Party and turned around and said, ‘I’m staying.’ They wanted him out!”
Smith continued his criticism of the party’s leadership, saying that Democrats lack a strong, influential figure heading into the next election cycle.
“I’m not in the news because I’m here!” Smith said, gesturing upward.
“I’m in the news because the Democratic Party is [down] here! Dammit, lower than that! Down to the bottom! They suck right now! Horrible! Because they don’t have a voice! Where the hell is the voice?”
Despite his strong political opinions, Smith has repeatedly denied having any interest in running for office.
In a recent interview with TMZ, he dismissed speculation about a potential campaign.
However, his frequent commentary on the Democratic Party and its leadership has continued to fuel speculation about his political ambitions.
