Border Patrol agents in Michigan made a shocking arrest last week, taking a dangerous cartel hitman off American streets—far from the southern border.
Detroit Sector Chief Patrol Agent John Morris announced the arrest of Melquiades Salgado-Garza, describing him as a “leader of hitmen” for the notorious Gulf Cartel, as reported by Breitbart.
Yes, you read that right—Michigan, not Texas or Arizona. Because thanks to the Biden administration’s open-border disaster, criminals aren’t just sneaking into the country; they’re spreading far and wide, setting up shop in places they have no business being.
Salgado-Garza didn’t just wake up one day and decide to start his crime spree. His record includes charges of burglary, forgery, and multiple immigration violations—yet somehow, he was still roaming freely. That is, until Border Patrol finally caught up with him.

And the hits keep coming. Over the weekend, Chief Morris reported that agents from the Sault Ste. Marie Station also apprehended a suspected member of the Tren de Aragua (TdA) gang—a violent Venezuelan prison gang responsible for terrorizing communities across Latin America.
The suspected TdA thug was found during a traffic stop while trying to reclaim a previously seized vehicle. Authorities have yet to release his name, but the fact that he was even in the country should raise alarms.
Meanwhile, agents from the Marysville Station arrested a Mexican national who had already been caught illegally entering the U.S. ten times since 1999.
Despite his repeated violations, he was still slinking around America, courtesy of a broken immigration system that rewards lawlessness. This time, officials say they are processing him for removal—again.

While the border crisis remains a full-blown disaster, there is some good news: removal operations are finally making a dent. Border Patrol Chief Michael Banks reported a 91 percent drop in illegal crossings compared to the same week last year.
“By stopping the flow at the border, we also streamline the removal of illegal entrants already in the country, reinforcing the integrity of our immigration system,” Banks said.
What a difference a year makes! USBP apprehensions decreased by 91% from the same 7-day period last year. This sharp decline reflects real progress in securing our borders and enforcing the law.

This success isn’t because of any grand policy shift from the White House—Biden and his handlers have done everything in their power to let illegal immigrants flood in.
Instead, it’s thanks to the men and women on the ground enforcing the law, despite the administration’s best efforts to undermine them.
With cartel hitmen and violent gangsters infiltrating places like Michigan, it’s undeniable that the border crisis has become a national security issue. Strong enforcement is the key to restoring order and protecting American communities.
