Khloé Kardashian has once again sparked outrage, this time for her remarks about Los Angeles Mayor Karen Bass’s handling of fire department resources.

While Kardashian criticized Bass, social media users quickly called out the reality star for her past water-wasting habits during California’s severe drought, as reported by TMZ.

The controversy erupted when Kardashian went after Mayor Bass following comments made by the L.A. Fire Chief on FOX 11 LA, accusing the mayor of undermining the fire department.

The chief alleged that Bass’s budget cuts and lack of support hindered their ability to combat the devastating wildfires raging across Los Angeles.

A wildfire broke out in Los Angeles County on Jan. 7, which has destroyed more than 1,000 homes, businesses and other structures, Los Angeles County Fire Chief Anthony Marrone said at a briefing Wednesday.

However, critics wasted no time pointing out Kardashian’s hypocrisy.

In June 2022, it was revealed that Khloé’s Calabasas mansion consumed a staggering 101,000 gallons of water over the permitted limit, while her sister Kim’s properties guzzled 232,000 gallons beyond the cap.

These revelations painted a picture of excess during one of California’s worst droughts in decades.

One X user didn’t hold back, writing, “Instead of Khloé Kardashian talking bullsh*t about Mayor Bass, people should be talking about how she and her sister used an excess of over 300,000 gallons of water in just one month during a drought. How about the water waster just STFU.”

Another critic piled on, saying, “Wonder where all of our water went? Kardashian greed! No wonder our land is burning.”

A third user delivered a scathing remark: “Khloe Kardashian thinks she’s better than anyone else that’s why she wasted 300 gallons of water. I’m not interested in anything that stupid-e-dupe has to say. Boycott her and her vain and useless family.”

In response to the backlash in 2022, the Kardashian family reportedly installed water-saving measures on their properties. While the changes may have been intended to address public outrage, critics remain skeptical of their sincerity, especially given the family’s opulent lifestyle.

This latest uproar underscores a recurring theme for the Kardashian clan: public lectures on societal issues often backfire when their own behavior comes under scrutiny. For a family that thrives on attention, it seems they might want to think twice before throwing stones from their glass mansions.
