Video evidence has surfaced online showing the Ohio State Highway Patrol arresting four Chilean nationals following the burglary of Cincinnati Bengals quarterback Joe Burrow's home.
The incident took place on December 9, 2024, while Burrow was away in Dallas, playing against the Cowboys on Monday Night Football.
The break-in was reported by Olivia Ponton, an employee of Burrow's, who made a 911 call stating that the home was being burglarized.

Ponton was at the residence at the time but was unharmed during the event.
The suspects, identified as Sergio Cabello, Bastian Morales, Jordan Sanchez, and Alexander Chavez, were apprehended on January 10 by the Ohio State Highway Patrol.
According to the arrest report, "All four males were identified as being illegally in the country or overstaying their permissions."

During the traffic stop, a search of the suspects and their vehicle led to the discovery of items believed to be stolen from Burrow's home, including "an old LSU shirt and Bengals hat," as detailed in court documents.

Burrow, who led LSU to a national championship in 2019, resides in Hamilton County, Ohio, where the burglary took place.
Further investigation revealed that the suspects were in possession of tools commonly used by the South American Theft Group, known for targeting affluent homes.
The tools found corroborate the pattern seen in similar crimes.
The four men now face charges of engaging in a pattern of corrupt activity, participating in a criminal gang, possessing criminal tools, and obstructing official business.
This burglary is part of a broader spree targeting homes of professional athletes. Other victims include Kansas City Chiefs' Patrick Mahomes and Travis Kelce, Milwaukee Bucks' Bobby Portis, Minnesota Timberwolves' Mike Conley, Dallas Mavericks' Luka Doncic, and Pittsburgh Penguins' Evgeny Malkin.
Court documents and arrest reports indicate that the Ohio State Highway Patrol and local law enforcement are actively pursuing leads to dismantle this crime ring, which appears to extend beyond Ohio's borders.
