As the 2024 presidential race reaches its climax, pop icon Taylor Swift made a surprising choice on Monday night, opting to attend an NFL game in Kansas City rather than Kamala Harris’s closing rally in Pennsylvania.
Swift, who publicly endorsed Harris for president in September, arrived at Arrowhead Stadium in Kansas City to cheer on her boyfriend, Chiefs tight end Travis Kelce, ahead of his matchup against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers.

Her appearance confirmed rumors that she would miss the Harris rally, leaving fans and Democrats alike wondering about the absence of one of the campaign’s most high-profile supporters.
Swift’s decision comes as a disappointment for many who speculated that her presence at the Pennsylvania rally might energize younger voters and reinforce her endorsement of Harris.
However, signs that Swift would not be attending surfaced over the weekend when her name was notably absent from the lineup of planned musical guests.
On Sunday, it became clear that Swift would be in Kansas City instead, as she arrived at Arrowhead Stadium about an hour before kickoff, dressed in a Chiefs-themed black, red, and gold jacket.
At the stadium, Swift was accompanied by her mother, Andrea Swift, and joined Kelce’s mother, Donna Kelce, as they watched the game together from a private suite.
Brittany Mahomes, wife of Chiefs quarterback Patrick Mahomes, also joined them at one point, despite past speculation about tension between her and Swift over political affiliations.

Brittany recently sparked controversy after appearing to endorse former President Donald Trump, a figure Swift has openly criticized in the past.
The two women appeared cordial, watching the game side-by-side even as Election Day approached.
Patrick Mahomes’ mom was also spotted at the game donning a Make America Great Again hat.

Swift has attended every Chiefs home game this season, finding time to support Kelce amid her busy Eras Tour schedule. She wrapped up her last show in Indianapolis on Sunday and does not perform again until November 14 in Toronto, allowing her a break to attend Monday night’s game.
While Swift cheered on the Chiefs, Kamala Harris made her final push in Pennsylvania, a critical battleground state expected to play a decisive role in the election.

Harris began her day in Allentown before making stops in Scranton, President Biden’s hometown, and Reading.
She concluded the night with a rally in Philadelphia, joined by prominent supporters Lady Gaga and Oprah Winfrey.

“We need everyone in Pennsylvania to vote,” Harris urged during her visit, addressing her supporters and rallying them to make a difference. In Scranton, she attempted to energize the crowd by repeatedly trying to get the crowd to chant ‘Let’s get out the vote’ with large banners encouraging “VOTE FOR FREEDOM” surrounding her.
Kamala tries to get the audience to chant and it was an epic fail. This is so difficult to watch. The cringe is off the charts.

Swift’s absence from the Harris rally drew mixed reactions online, with some speculating that her decision to attend Kelce’s game instead might signal a lack of enthusiasm for the Democratic campaign.
Swift had previously declared her support for Harris in a passionate Instagram post, writing, “I will be casting my vote for Kamala Harris and Tim Walz in the 2024 Presidential Election.”

In her endorsement, Swift praised Harris as a “steady-handed, gifted leader” and expressed her alignment with the vice president’s stance on LGBTQ+ rights, reproductive health, and other issues.
Swift ended her post with a dig at the Republican ticket, writing, “With love and hope, Taylor Swift – Childless Cat Lady.”
Meanwhile, President Trump also campaigned in Pennsylvania on Monday, focusing on Reading before traveling to Pittsburgh.
He then planned to conclude his campaign with a rally in Grand Rapids, Michigan, a venue that holds significance as the site where he finished both his 2016 and 2020 campaigns.
Swift’s decision to prioritize personal commitments over political engagement leaves Democrats without one of their most influential supporters at a critical moment.
As polls open and voters cast their ballots, both campaigns are racing to secure every vote in battleground states like Pennsylvania, where turnout could determine the next president.
Swift’s endorsement of Harris remains clear, but her absence from the campaign trail may leave some Democrats disappointed as Election Day unfolds.
