President-Elect Donald Trump was declared the winner of the 2024 presidential election on Wednesday morning, following a decisive victory.
Fox News called the race for Trump after he secured enough electoral votes, leading him to deliver a victory speech at 2:30 a.m. ET from Mar-a-Lago, where he celebrated his historic political comeback.
Despite the custom of the losing candidate calling to congratulate the winner, Kamala Harris did not reach out to Trump, nor did she deliver a concession speech.

NBC News’ Yamiche Alcindor reported on MSNBC that Harris’s aides were beginning to consider “how are we going to work with the Trump administration,” though Harris herself had not formally conceded.
Alcindor noted that some Harris aides were coming to terms with the outcome as Trump’s victory became increasingly evident.

Other major news networks, including The Associated Press, CNN, and MSNBC, called the race for Trump around 6 a.m. ET. Trump, who won in what supporters describe as a “resounding fashion,” thanked his supporters and expressed a desire to unify the nation, saying, “Success is going to bring us together, and we are going to start by all putting America first.”
Harris’s watch party at Howard University turned somber as her supporters awaited updates late into the night.
After hours of waiting, Harris’s campaign co-chair Jen O’Malley Dillon addressed the crowd, instructing them to go home until the morning.

Later, Cedric Richmond, another Harris campaign official, made a statement reminiscent of 2016, when Hillary Clinton’s team informed supporters that Clinton would not make an appearance after her loss to Trump.
Richmond told the crowd, “We still have votes to count … so you won’t hear from the vice president tonight. She will be back here tomorrow.”

The atmosphere among Harris’s supporters grew increasingly somber as results came in.
Reports indicate that some supporters at Howard University muted the TVs when states were called in Trump’s favor, visibly shaken by the outcome.
Absolutely brutal.
