Authorities in Little Rock, Arkansas, are investigating a shooting that occurred on Black Friday afternoon at the Park Plaza Mall.
The incident took place just before 2 p.m. on November 24, when local police were alerted to reports of an “active aggressor” inside the mall, according to FOX 16.

Mark Edwards, a spokesperson for the Little Rock Police Department, told the Arkansas Democrat-Gazette that the shooting appeared to be an isolated incident.
Edwards stated, “I haven’t heard of any fatalities. I’ve heard maybe a couple of non-life-threatening injuries, but nothing fatal.”

Police have not confirmed the number of individuals involved or whether arrests have been made at this time.
In response to the incident, Little Rock Mayor Frank Scott, Jr. issued a statement condemning the actions of those involved.
He described the shooting as “careless, senseless and criminal” and emphasized how the actions of the two individuals “jeopardized the lives and safety of residents and visitors.”

Mayor Scott expressed his concern for the victims, stating, “We are praying for the victims of this incident, and are hopeful they make a full recovery.”
The mayor further commented on the broader issue of gun violence, saying, “Gun violence is unacceptable at any time or in any place,” and he assured the public that those responsible would be held “fully accountable for their dangerous and reckless decisions.”
Mayor Scott also thanked local law enforcement, first responders, mall security, and employees for their quick actions to ensure safety and protect those in the mall during the crisis.
