Bill Maher is facing serious legal trouble after conservative activist and Trump supporter, Laura Loomer, slapped him with a $150 million lawsuit.

As reported by TMZ, the suit stems from Maher’s controversial comments on his HBO show, Real Time With Bill Maher, where he falsely claimed Loomer had a romantic relationship with Donald Trump.

Loomer, known for her fiery investigative journalism and staunch loyalty to Trump, filed the lawsuit in Sumter County, Florida.

She alleges that Maher’s comments were not only “false, malicious, and defamatory” but also made without any basis in fact.

The remarks were made during Maher’s September 13, 2024, episode, where he insinuated that Loomer was romantically involved with the 45th president, saying, “She’s 31, looks like his type,” and implying that she could be part of an “arranged relationship to affect the election.”

In response, Loomer vehemently denied the baseless accusation, emphasizing that she has never been involved with Trump in any romantic or intimate way.

She noted that Trump is a married man and that Maher had absolutely no evidence to support his reckless claim. Loomer’s suit also targets HBO, accusing the network of profiting from Maher’s defamatory statements and allowing the falsehoods to air.

Trump himself chimed in shortly after Maher’s remarks, using his Truth Social platform to attack the comedian. He called Maher a “befuddled mess” and labeled his show as “boring,” leaving no doubt about his disapproval of Maher’s antics.

While Maher may have thought his comments were just provocative entertainment, Loomer is clearly not letting it slide, demanding $150 million in damages.

The case puts Maher in a precarious position, as Loomer’s lawsuit seeks not only financial compensation but also to restore her reputation from what she sees as a calculated smear.

With Trump backing her up and the legal battle heating up, it remains to be seen how this courtroom drama will unfold.
