President Biden found himself in an awkward moment during a photo op at a Pennsylvania firehouse on Wednesday, posing with a group of children, many of whom were proudly displaying their support for former President Donald Trump.

The event took place in Shanksville, Pennsylvania, as Biden paid his respects for the 23rd anniversary of the September 11 attacks. However, it wasn’t the solemnity of the occasion that caught attention, but the clear pro-Trump messaging worn by the children surrounding the 81-year-old president, as reported by the New York Post.

The now-viral photo, shared by conservative influencer Benny Johnson on X, features a group of about 16 kids, with several sporting Trump-themed attire.

Some shirts displayed the former president’s face prominently, including one with Trump in Terminator-style sunglasses, paired with the words “I’ll be back.”

The visual contrast between the pro-Trump clothing and Biden’s presence at the event painted a picture of discomfort for the sitting president. One teenager, standing to Biden’s right, looked particularly unamused, refusing to smile for the cameras.

In addition to posing with the kids, Biden also brought pizza and beer to the firehouse, following a wreath-laying ceremony at the Flight 93 Memorial. This site commemorates the passengers of United Airlines Flight 93, who heroically overtook hijackers on 9/11, preventing the plane from hitting its intended target. Instead, the plane tragically crashed in a rural area of Pennsylvania.

The moment took a more lighthearted turn when a local man handed Biden a red “Trump 2024” hat. Rather than shying away, Biden briefly placed the hat on his head with a grin before quickly handing it back.

Shanksville, located in the conservative heart of Pennsylvania, is part of a region where over 77% of voters cast their ballots for Trump in the 2020 election.

Biden’s presence there, combined with the visible and enthusiastic support for Trump, added a certain irony to the occasion. As Biden continues to navigate the challenges of his presidency, moments like these serve as stark reminders that much of the heartland, particularly in battleground states like Pennsylvania, still stands firmly behind his predecessor and remains loyal to Trump’s vision for America.
