Donald Trump isn’t one to back down, and he made that clear after his first debate with Vice President Kamala Harris. Calling the event “rigged” and “unfair,” Trump didn’t hold back his thoughts on how the moderators handled the face-off, as reported by the New York Post.

During an early-morning appearance on Fox & Friends, Trump addressed the repeated fact-checking that occurred during the debate. “It was three on one,” he remarked, referring to the two ABC moderators who stepped in to correct him several times. “I thought I did a great job.”

Despite the “rigged deal,” Trump remained unfazed, saying he’d faced worse odds. “It was so obvious,” he noted, calling the moderators “dishonest” and even suggesting ABC should lose their broadcasting license over the event.

His conservative supporters were predictably irked, accusing the moderators of clear bias and unequal treatment between Trump and Harris. Moderators David Muir and Linsey Davis corrected Trump four times over the course of the 90-minute event, but noticeably didn’t apply the same scrutiny to Harris.

While Trump faced fact-checks and corrections, he appeared unfazed, confident that he had won the debate. “I’ve been told I’m a good debater,” Trump boasted, “I think it was one of my better debates, maybe my best debate.”

Harris, who had a much stronger showing than Joe Biden’s disastrous performance in June, managed to avoid any significant missteps, all while deflecting tricky questions about her record.

After the debate, Harris’ team pushed for a second round. Unsurprisingly, Trump wasn’t exactly enthusiastic about the idea.

“I won the debate,” he said, adding with his usual bravado, “I don’t know if I want to do another debate.” He didn’t seem to think a second round was necessary, joking that the “loser always asks for a rematch.”

Harris took shots at Trump over his economic policies, his refusal to concede the 2020 election, and even his rally performances. Trump, despite taking some hits, stayed on his feet and didn’t give an inch. While the debate may have left Harris eager for another round, Trump was already feeling confident in his performance.
