Governor Tim Walz had a rare moment of honesty during a rally for Kamala Harris in Pennsylvania when he declared, “We can’t afford four more years of this.”

Although he aimed his remarks at Republicans, the statement resonated with conservatives as a backhanded admission of failure. Walz’s words quickly gained traction, sparking mockery across the political spectrum, especially from Trump supporters who pointed out the irony of his statement, as reported by Daily Fetched.

Inflation, skyrocketing energy prices, and an open-border crisis have defined the Biden-Harris administration. And now, as they seek re-election, Harris claims she can fix what she and her party have broken. During the rally, Walz’s attempt to bolster Harris fell flat as he rambled about fear-mongering and the need for change.

“I’ll bring her home here quick, folks: Look, Kamala Harris made it clear these guys want to instill fear,” Walz said. “They want to tell you that [you should] just get over it, it’s a fact of life. This is the way it is.” Walz went on to echo Harris’s empty promises, claiming, “It doesn’t have to be this way. We can’t afford four more years of this.”

Walz’s awkward phrasing made him an unintended Trump ally for the day. Conservatives were quick to point out the absurdity of his remarks.

“Dude is campaigning for Trump now?” wrote commentator Rita Panahi on X.

Donald Trump Jr. quipped, “I’m with Him/Tim.”

Even the Trump campaign jumped on the moment, incorporating Walz’s words into their messaging.

The Minnesota Governor’s comments came just days after Harris gave a nonsensical interview with Oprah Winfrey, where she fumbled through talking points about fixing the economy. Harris rambled on about the American Dream and how it’s become “far more elusive” for this generation—without addressing how her administration’s policies are directly responsible for that very problem.

As the Biden-Harris ticket scrambles to rally support, they seem to be doing more harm than good. Walz, in his attempt to support Harris, inadvertently highlighted the very reasons voters are looking for a change.

As one X user pointed out, “Kamala is in office right now… She’s the ‘this.’”
