Conor McGregor, the well-known UFC figure, has announced his aspirations to become Ireland’s next president, positioning himself as the “only logical choice” for the role.

Despite now living a lavish lifestyle across the United States, McGregor remains deeply patriotic about his Irish roots.

His presidential ambitions come after receiving public support from Elon Musk in the past.

McGregor, known for his outspoken political stances, has previously sparked controversy, especially during the Dublin riots following the stabbing of three children and a caregiver last year, as reported by The Daily Mail.

Current Irish President Michael D. Higgins is expected to call for elections in October next year, and McGregor seems confident that the Irish public will back him in his bid for the presidency.

Despite having no formal experience in politics, McGregor has enjoyed significant financial success outside the UFC, notably through his whisky brand, Proper Twelve, and other ventures.

Now, he has laid out his vision for Ireland through a social media post on X, where he promised to take bold action if elected.

In his post, McGregor stated, “As President, I hold the power to summon the Dáil [Ireland’s government] and dissolve it. I would have all the answers the people of Ireland seek from these thieves of the working man, these disrupters of the family unit, these destructors of small businesses, and on and on and on!”

He went on to declare that the current leadership, whom he called “charlatans,” would be summoned to answer to the people. “I would have it done by day end. Or I would be left with no choice but to dissolve the Dáil entirely. Stop the train until. The people of Ireland deserve the answers they seek. Point blank.”

McGregor further elaborated, “Ireland needs an active President employed wholly by the people of Ireland. It is me. I am the only logical choice. 2025 is upcoming…” His statements reflect his desire for a leadership overhaul and a commitment to challenging the status quo in Irish politics.

Fans of the MMA star quickly rallied behind McGregor’s bold statements, with several expressing support for his potential run for president.

Among those backing him is Andrew Tate, a controversial figure who has faced legal challenges in Romania. Tate responded to McGregor’s post, stating, “My grandfather is from Limerick. I have the Irish passport. I will vote for you. We must do something before it’s too late.”

However, while McGregor’s political ambitions are gaining attention, he also revealed plans to return to the UFC octagon by the end of the year.

The fighter is still recovering from a significant injury and faces the challenge of balancing his sporting career with his newfound political goals.
