Melania Trump is demanding answers after a shocking attempt on Donald Trump’s life during a rally in Butler, Pennsylvania, in July. The would-be assassin, Thomas Matthew Crooks, was shot and killed by Secret Service agents after he opened fire from a rooftop, injuring the former president and tragically claiming the life of a bystander, as reported by Newsweek.

Two other people were also injured during the chaotic scene. Melania Trump, however, is raising some tough questions about the entire ordeal.

In a video posted on X, the platform formerly known as Twitter, Melania Trump expressed her concerns: “The attempt to end my husband’s life was a horrible, distressing experience. Now, the silence around it feels heavy. I can’t help but wonder, why didn’t law enforcement officials arrest the shooter before the speech?”

Her words echo a frustration many Americans feel when it comes to the apparent lack of transparency surrounding threats to public figures. The former First Lady didn’t hold back, adding, “There is definitely more to this story, and we need to uncover the truth.”

Melania’s comments come after a heartfelt letter she wrote in July, reflecting on the horrifying incident.

“When I watched that violent bullet strike my husband, Donald, I realized my life, and Barron’s life, were on the brink of a devastating change,” she wrote. “I am grateful to the brave Secret Service agents and law enforcement officials who risked their own lives to protect my husband.”

But it’s not just gratitude for those who stood in harm’s way. Melania Trump painted a deeper picture of the man she knows, describing how Crooks saw Donald as an “inhuman political machine,” and how that distorted perception led to this attempt to silence the passion, creativity, and humanity of her husband. She reminded the public that behind the political figure is a generous, caring man.

Melania’s video message was released just hours before Donald Trump is scheduled to face Kamala Harris in their first presidential debate, further amplifying the stakes as the nation gears up for the November election.

The attack on Donald Trump has certainly raised concerns, but Melania’s demand for answers is a stark reminder that not all has been revealed about the events leading up to that fateful day in July.
