Megyn Kelly didn’t hold back in her sharp criticism of the moderators during the recent debate between Kamala Harris and former President Donald Trump.
In a post-debate reaction, Kelly accused ABC News moderators Linsey Davis and David Muir of blatant bias in favor of Harris, going so far as to suggest that their personal connections influenced their moderation.
Kelly expressed her anger over what she believes was a coordinated effort to undermine Trump and boost Harris’s performance.

“I’m disgusted. I’m disgusted. I’m ashamed of those moderators at ABC News,” Kelly stated during a special program, referring to the moderators’ conduct during the 90-minute debate.
She argued that Davis and Muir acted as if they were directly supporting Harris on stage, leaving Trump to defend himself against what Kelly described as a “three against one” scenario. “It was three against one on that debate stage this evening,” Kelly said. “It’s very easy to look like you know what you’re doing when both moderators are entirely on your side.”
Kelly highlighted specific instances where she felt the moderators targeted Trump unfairly, particularly through fact-checks. She noted that while Trump faced repeated scrutiny over his statements, Harris received little to no fact-checking. “Numerous fact checks on what he said and none on what she said. None. I don’t remember a single fact check of anything she said and she lied repeatedly. She just got away with it,” Kelly exclaimed.
One moment that particularly angered Kelly was when David Muir commented on Trump’s tone regarding his remarks about losing the 2020 election. When Trump claimed he was being sarcastic, Muir interjected, “I didn’t hear sarcasm.” Kelly was quick to condemn this intervention, stating, “Who gives a s**t? What you heard? Who died and let left you political analyst in chief?” She continued, “You’re supposed to be the objective news anchor of World News Tonight… That is inappropriate. It’s not for you to make that call.”
Kelly also criticized the overall format of the debate, arguing that it repeatedly placed Trump in a defensive position. “The worst piece of all of this is the obvious tactic by ABC News, which was as follows: Mr. Trump, you said something incredibly controversial and terrible. Let me remind you of what it was. Do you have any regrets or thoughts on how terrible you were? Trump answers, Vice President Harris, how bad is Trump?” Kelly described the format as unfair, saying, “That was the format. Mr. Trump, you’re a piece of s**t. Kamala Harris, isn’t he a s**t? Thank you.”
Kelly’s frustration extended beyond the debate itself, expressing her disappointment with the media industry as a whole. “I’m angry at them, at ABC, at my industry that I want nothing to do with, and I’ve never been happier to be outside and be able to say how I truly feel,” she said, venting her frustration with what she sees as the media’s attempt to influence the election in Harris’s favor.
Despite her anger, Kelly believes that the blatant bias displayed during the debate could backfire. “I think it was so bad their bias against him and toward her that it’s going to backfire. I actually think the American public is going to see through this,” she said, suggesting that viewers might develop empathy for Trump after seeing how the debate was moderated.
