Political commentator Tim Pool has filed a lawsuit against Vice President Kamala Harris’s presidential campaign, accusing them of defamation and interference with his business.

The lawsuit stems from a statement made by Harris’s campaign that allegedly damaged Pool’s reputation, falsely linking him to Russian propaganda, as reported by Trending Politics News.

Pool, a prominent conservative voice, revealed the lawsuit on his podcast, “Timcast IRL,” where he discussed the reasons behind his decision to take legal action. According to the lawsuit filed in West Virginia, Pool asserts that Harris’s campaign published a defamatory statement accusing him of pushing pro-Russian narratives, a claim that Pool denies vehemently.

In his legal filing, Pool argues that the Harris campaign’s statement not only harmed his reputation but also negatively impacted his media business.

“Mr. Pool was damaged by the Harris Campaign’s bad faith misconduct previously described herein in addition to his expenditures for the prosecution of this action, which is necessary to clear Mr. Pool’s name and restore his reputation,” the lawsuit states.

The lawsuit comes in the wake of broader accusations against conservative media figures, including Dave Rubin and Benny Johnson, suggesting they were part of a disinformation campaign tied to Russian interests.

These claims, pushed by the Biden administration, allege that Moscow is attempting to sway upcoming U.S. elections by using American influencers. Both Pool and his fellow commentators have forcefully denied these accusations, claiming that they are being unfairly targeted.

President Joe Biden joined Vice President Kamala Harris during the first day of the Democratic National Convention at the United Center in Chicago.

In August, the Justice Department made the explosive claim that a U.S.-based media company, Tenet Media, where Pool had worked, had received $10 million in funding from Russian state media.

This company, which has since shuttered, allegedly spread pro-Russia content without the knowledge of some creators involved. Pool has rejected any notion of intentional wrongdoing.

Pool’s decision to file the lawsuit was sparked by a post on the Harris campaign’s official press account, KamalaHQ. The account posted a clip of Pool discussing Trump’s 2025 plan, suggesting Trump’s team seeks to jail political opponents if he wins re-election.

“Trump operatives say their Project 2025 plan is to give Trump total, unchecked legal power so they can jail and execute those who don’t support Trump if he wins,” the post read.

Pool responded on his podcast, asking, “Should Democrats be in jail? No question,” Pool asked on his podcast. “When Donald Trump gets elected should he start locking them up? No question. Should there be lists of Democrats that need to go to jail, one hundred percent. And the reason for that is they committed crimes.”

His comments, though provocative, became the basis of the Harris campaign’s accusations against him. Pool is now seeking damages, although the specific amount remains undisclosed.

Several conservative figures, including Dave Rubin and Benny Johnson, have rallied to Pool’s side.

Both have faced similar allegations of Russian ties, and both have dismissed the claims as politically motivated attacks designed to silence conservative voices ahead of the 2024 election.

This lawsuit marks another flashpoint in the ongoing struggle between grassroots conservative influencers and establishment political figures, with tensions likely to escalate as the election season heats up.
