Job Creators Network, the nation’s top advocate for small businesses, is taking their message to one of the biggest stages in the world—Times Square. Their new rotating billboard isn’t just another flashy display, though. It’s a pointed critique of the economic hardship millions of Americans are feeling under President Joe Biden and Vice President Kamala Harris, as reported by Breitbart News.

With consumer prices continuing to climb, despite the Democrats’ claim that inflation is slowing, the billboard cuts through their political spin just ahead of the high-profile debate between Harris and former President Trump.

The billboards spotlight the surging costs of essentials like electricity, ground beef, and rent since the Biden-Harris team took office in 2021. Job Creators Network has dubbed this economic squeeze “Kamala’s Misery Gap.”

The display clearly contrasts the declining inflation rate with actual price increases that Americans are facing every day. Electricity prices alone have soared by over 30% between January 2021 and July 2024, according to the Consumer Price Index.

CEO of Job Creators Network, Alfredo Ortiz, didn’t mince words. “The Democrats are attempting to hoodwink the American people into believing that consumer prices are falling by pointing to the moderating inflation rate. But anyone who goes to a grocery store anecdotally knows this is not the case,” Ortiz said in a statement. The Times Square ad aims to show that while politicians push talking points, Americans are paying more for basic needs across the board.

Food inflation has been particularly painful for working Americans, especially when it comes to staples like beef. And last week, Job Creators Network called out the Biden administration’s claim that the rising grocery prices are due to “price gouging” by supermarkets and food producers.

A recent video by the advocacy group dismantled this narrative, explaining that the higher costs for food production, transportation, and labor are simply being passed along to the consumer. These rising input costs, according to government data, are a direct result of Biden-Harris policies.

The skyrocketing cost of rent has also hit families hard. According to data from the U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics, the average rent for shelter in U.S. cities has jumped 22% since Biden and Harris took office. Breitbart News reported that this trend is crippling working-class Americans who are already struggling with other inflated costs.

Adding to the irony, Kamala Harris, in a recent campaign speech, promised to “tackle corporate landlords and cap unfair rent increases” if re-elected. Alfredo Ortiz scoffed at her pledge, noting that the rent crisis she now claims to want to fix was largely a result of the administration’s own economic policies.
