Hollywood actor and former WWE star Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson recently voiced strong support for former President Donald Trump, praising his resilience following an assassination attempt in July 2024. Johnson’s comments came during his appearance at The Vault Conference in West Palm Beach, Florida, hosted by entrepreneur Patrick Bet-David.

The “Jumanji” star took a notable stance in defense of Trump, condemning any rhetoric or actions advocating violence against the former president.

The assassination attempt on Trump occurred on July 13, 2024, and nearly took his life.

During the incident, Trump famously stood up after being shot, pumped his fist in defiance, and repeatedly shouted “Fight!”

This powerful moment has since become a symbol of Trump’s 2024 campaign and one of the most memorable images of modern political history.

Johnson praised Trump for his show of strength in that critical moment, stating, “Whether you love Donald or don’t love Donald, it doesn’t matter. They tried to assassinate him. There’s no room for that.”

Johnson continued, emphasizing that regardless of political views, such acts of violence are unacceptable. “Despite it being who we were in that moment, I still believe in my core that is not who we are as a country,” Johnson told the audience. His praise of Trump standing up after the attack was clear: “So him standing up at that moment, we wanted to see that.”

In addition to addressing the assassination attempt, Johnson also spoke more broadly about the growing hostile rhetoric in American politics.

He specifically called out Democrats for the violent language that has been directed toward Trump, further reinforcing his belief that violence has no place in political discourse. “Whether you love Donald or you don’t… there’s no room for that,” Johnson remarked, referring to suggestions of violence against Trump.

Johnson’s comments at the conference mark a significant moment, as the Hollywood star had previously been vocal about his support for Joe Biden during the 2020 election and had criticized Trump’s handling of the George Floyd protests.

However, during this event, Johnson adopted a more neutral stance, focusing on the need to unify the country rather than further political division. His shift has been noted as part of a larger trend of celebrities softening their criticism of Trump.

The event also saw Johnson share some personal memories of Trump, recalling how the former president used to attend his wrestling matches at Madison Square Garden. “He used to come watch me wrestle all the time. It was great,” Johnson shared, giving a glimpse into their personal interactions.

Johnson’s statements drew significant attention on social media. A tweet from @BehizyTweets on September 8, 2024, read: “BREAKING: Hollywood Superstar Dwayne ‘The Rock’ Johnson just CONDEMNED Democrats’ violent rhetoric against Trump and revealed that Trump has always been good to him.” The tweet further highlighted Johnson’s evolving political stance, which has sparked considerable discussion.

This change in tone mirrors the actions of other celebrities who have recently expressed support for Trump.

Elton John, another major public figure, also made headlines when he voiced his admiration for the former president.

Like Johnson, Elton John’s support for Trump has added to the ongoing conversation about Hollywood figures stepping into the political sphere with endorsements that surprise many of their fans.

Johnson’s words at The Vault Conference, particularly his praise for Trump’s strength and condemnation of violent rhetoric, signal a shift in Hollywood’s typically critical view of the former president.
